GCpad Config Issues (SSBB Wavedashing)

I'm currently using dolphin 4.0 with a 3 in 1 magicjoybox (mayflash) and official gamecube controller for the SOLE purpose of playing super smash bros brawl.

I doubt my gcpad configuration is correct but all the buttons/control sticks seem to work fine independently but when I attempt to wavedash the controller wont input the directional command of air doding after jumping, which is necessary for wavedashing.

Even when I ONLY attempt to give a directional command while air dodging (moving the control stick while pressing R or L) the character stays static and air dodges in the air right above the place it jumped from.
My controller does not want to register the second step (control stick directional command)
  • Jump buttons ([Image: Gamecube-Button-X.png] or [Image: Gamecube-Button-Y.png] or [Image: Gamecube-Control-Neutral.png])
  • Control stick ([Image: Gamecube-Control-DownRight.png] and [Image: Gamecube-Control-DownLeft.png])
  • Shield/Dodge buttons ([Image: Gamecube-Button-R.png] or [Image: Gamecube-Button-L.png])

I'd appreciate any help or insight about my problem. Thank you!
