Just tried this game on Dolphin 5.0-321 and it gets stuck at the loading screen after completing the first level. It doesn't freeze, the loading screen just never ends. Also there's some problems with firefly orb rendering and the crickets' antennae aren't positioned correctly. Really fun game though. Hopefully it becomes more playable someday.

Hopefully it becomes more playable someday. To make the game playable, and as a workaround for the eternal loading screen error, try the following. Start the game, and enter a level, without changing anything. Go through the level normally, but only collect 5 of the 6 eggs. Leave 1 untouched. Before collecting the final egg, create a save state. Close the emulation. Go into Config on Dolphin Change the CPU Emulation Type from JIT Recompiler to Cached Interpreter. Save, and launch the game again. Load your save state (The one that's just before you collect the final egg on a level) Collect the egg. If you get the 'bonus' stage, complete it, otherwise wait until the game enters the level selection screen. Let the game save, or create a new/overwrite the old save state. Close the game. Switch from Cached Interpreter, back to JIT Recompiler. Rinse and repeat for every level. You can play the game in Cached Interpreter, however, there's severe audio tearing, lag, and excessively low frame rate. However, it's the only way to bypass the eternal loading issue. I believe that the issue is caused by the game trying to read the file too fast, or the file not loading correctly to re-load the game assests, causing it to get caught in an infinite loading error, without realizing it. If there's some way to create an updated version of the game that loads the loading screens in Cached Interpreter format, it would solve the issue. |
