I'm experiencing heavy lag in the first area, whenever the camera is pointed towards "the rest of the level" (from ~100% down to ~25%). Pointing the camera away brings it back to normal speed. By "the rest of level" I mean when it is pointed towards where the rest of the level lies (as opposed to pointed at the "invisible walls" the other way).

That's most likely just slow emulation. Your processor is on the slow side, so certainly explains it. Try tweaking settings for speed rather than quality and compatibility.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: Intel i5 4670K @3.4GHz... for now @4.6GHz with a quick and dirty (yet stable) OC. May get faster in a bit before the end of time.
RAM: 16GB (Down from 24 GB after some was given to siblings)
GPU: Radeon Vega 56

Hm, it just feels odd that everything works fine and a simple thing like camera angle slows the game down so dramatically... Guess I'll stick to 2D-ish games. Wink
