Hey guys, I've been messing around with Dolphin for a couple of days now and I'm absolutely loving it.

However, Hyrule Field is giving me 18-20 FPS after helping the Gorons and entering North Hyrule Field. Before ever visiting North Hyrule Field my emulator ran at 100% at all times and I've never had any issues with the emulator slowing down before.

I've never experienced any issues running Dolphin before, and it only brings me down to about 18-20FPS from 30 when I enter Hyrule Field. I've tried everything, I've tried using the native resolution as well as lowering the fullscreen resolution.

If you need any more information, please don't hesitate to comment.

Also, not sure if I've posted this in the right section.

Yeah slowdowns in Hyrule Field are absolutely normal. Have a look to the official thread http://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Twilight_Princess_%28GC%29

Your CPU is not fast enough for this demanding game
Overclocking is the only way to get more FPS without upgrading your CPU

Is this because Dolphin only utilizes 2 Cores? So basically, the only way to resolve the issue is to get a better CPU?

So there's no real way to fix it, except for getting a better CPU? I've seen people with worse CPUs than mine pulling the same numbers.

This is a common issue. EVEN the best CPUs have difficulties in this part of the game Tongue

Guess I'll just have to play through it at 18FPS then Sad Thank you for your help.

Are you sure ? I have 23FPS with "EFB copies to Ram" most of the time
The i5 3570k should be able to run this game full speed all the time without overclocking

@OP You must tick "Enable Cache" . Use 3x Internal Resolution , No Anti-aliasing (SSAA is very demanding), 16x AF (AF does not affect performance if you have a modern GPU)

I get about 20-23 with those settings.

Overclock your CPU to 3.8GHz (if you know what you're doing though) , you should have 25FPS+

By "difficulties" I meant "not full-speed" or "not as fast as anywhere else" Smile
