Just keep it at 100%.Oddly enough if I keep everything on and go back to desktop after the game has launched: unticking and reticking "use fullscreen" the problem vanishes. But this does need to be done every time I launch it.

Wait i dont get it, so, my laptop aint half bad, its more setup for speed rather than gaming, but i though the idea was because this game is old, i should be able to run it with high settings because obviously it makes the game look good but if i do that, the game goes from 60fps to 40fps or 30fps depending on the scene im in and this slows down the game and the audio is like slow motion and crackly. Am i to leave it becuase my laptop is not good enough to run it with good settings or does anyone know any better?
It seems whenever i see light or smoke or an explosion, i take a massive hit to fps... why would this be?

Smoke or explosions usually mean the screen is filled with particles. Particles especially from those two effects tend to be transparent. Any time you have transparency effects taking up huge portions of the screen, GPU performance bottoms out hard. This is caused by something called overdraw, where pixels have tons of overlapping information that needs to be processed, usually caused by transparency effects. Instead of the GPU only doing a few light calculations per pixel, it has to do several more, drastically increasing the cost to render. The more pixels the effects take up, the more severe the performance hit. Not a lot you can do about that.

Hello everyone,
So I've just gone through TS2 and wanted to go through Future Perfect again. If I remember correctly, I did actually do it with the USA version last time (G3FE69) and it worked correctly. Now it just gives me a black screen and never gets into the emulation state (doesn't show any yellow text indicating plugins and so on, no name of the game, no FPS in the title bar). The Europe version works flawlessly though. No problem on that front. I've checked if it was a bad ROM but it's not unfortunately. With the latest Dolphin version I can close the emulation without trouble, but with 5.0 stable, it loops with an error message of that type : "Invalid Write to 0x00000000, PC = 0x00000000" (can't remember what was in place of 0x00000000 though, if it's really important I can download 5.0 stable to try if you want). Is it a known issue ? Does anyone have any idea ? Thanks in advance Edit : Well the issue is much bigger =/ Though the Europe version (G3FP69) works, I can't seem to make it work any decently. I used to be able to run the game at stable 60 FPS with no stutter (at least during gameplay) at 2x or 4x native (unsure on 4x really). Now I'm at native and while I mostly get 60 FPS it's not constant and I have lots of stutters. Any changes to graphic settings can't seem to get rid of it. I'll try with 5.0 stable 05-29-2018, 02:57 AM
Hello there!
I seem to be having some major issues ripping very particular textures within Timesplitters Future Perfect for the Gamecube. Below is a video more accurately describing and showing everything I've encountered, but the main issue I'm noticing is that some textures which are ripped seem jumbled and broken, even mixing with other textures. This makes the process of editing and covering over those with custom textures virtually impossible. Not all the textures in the game have this effect, only certain ones which have the same, identical result with different dumps in different circumstances. I hope the video provides enough information, and if it does not, please bug me to provide more! I have gone over all my settings within it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMyQl8uOCJ0 Thank you! - Scrumplet 05-29-2018, 04:23 AM
Have you tried the latest dev version?
For the GFX FIFO issue, try to disable Dual Core in the config. It is even suggested in the message. Also, in my expirence, textures are dumped when they are loaded, so it might be better if you start dumping textures before entering the level. And some games "combine" textures for whatever reason. (For example, in Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness, I get thousands of textures of text) 05-29-2018, 04:19 PM

You should always have the latest dev-version no matter what, you will have to download it from the top of the download page, it will have many fixes for many games as well as a lot of issues with framedumping and desyncs have been solved in the over 7500 commits that have been made since 5.0-stable. I also see you are running on LLE, for which is no reason and it will only slow down your game or use a lot more resources on your CPU. https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?t...re_Perfect checking here tells us you need to enable Synchronize GPU Thread to fix the FIFO issue you are facing. To do this you have to right click the game and select properties, then it should be somewhere on the first tab.
Check my profile for up to date specs.

Testing these methods out today to see my results! Though I'm not sure what you mean by "running on LLE".

The only thing I haven't looked into is LLE, which I'll put some research into now [/quote] |
