I know that. That doesn't answer my question.

No.... the emu tries to play the audio, but the DSP plugin is unable to do so, so it crashes saying some blah blah code is missing... This is the only cause of emu to crash. This happens to all svn and all builds (of all builders) randomly. But I encountered it only thrice, so no problem for me and it is easy to avoid this. 10-07-2010, 12:43 AM
Very simple. Uses frequent Quick saves.
1. When you meet the wolf, most probably the most sensitive time. Quick save there. 2. When you just enter the Wolf's other world, quicksave there. 3. The Crash will happen most frequently (as for me) when we start to howl. If you enter the howling section, QUICKSAVE there. 4. If there is a crash at any point, reload. If reload fails, try to load previous saved state. It will load previous' previous save. 5. Try to get the howling sequence complete. That's it. You can ask if you can't understand. I will post some screenshots if you like. 10-07-2010, 04:53 AM
Hmm. Well if he is not using an audio patch then how is it that his builds are handling this differently then anyone else's?

There isn't really anything different about my builds, maybe it's because I take the time to compile manually rather than rely on an auto compile scripts. With auto-compilation any number of things can happen, depends on what compiler is being used, compile settings/configuration, flags, how it's compiled etc..
Other than that I don't really know. 10-07-2010, 06:55 AM
That's what I thought. But I can't think of a way to explain all other builds having this issue that none of your builds have (according to Arpit).

But I can't think of a way to explain all other builds having this issue that none of your builds have (according to Arpit). I just told everybody what I encountered. I had used builds of other builders like mamario, spellforce etc. I experienced much much enjoyable emulation in X2D's builds. I chose SVN builds approx. same in number (because X2D compile rate is somewhat slow). Maybe X2D's manual compile takes the lead on auto-compile on very very emu-sensitive Zelda Twilight Princess. Even on my new Quad Core, Speeds on Hyrule Field touches ~20 FPS (see attachment). It is unoptimized SVN 6225. It also helped me to drop my futile idea to overclock that I had after mamario's build. Well, I can't say anything about audio patch. ZTP uses looped sounds I guess and emu tends to crash sometimes when audio don't loop. But with continuous quicksaves, these crashes can be overcome. I tested this on spellforce. 10-08-2010, 03:39 AM
But you are getting crashes with other builds that aren't there with xtreme's correct? I don't care about performance, I am just wondering why the stability is better.
