I went to post another question about my bug with screen shots that no one else can replicate when I decided I hadn't updated Dolphin in a while. So I update Dolphin and the title screen won't show up. What gives?

After the opening credits but before the title begins (with the video), the game goes black. 0FPS, 60VPS.

Much like what happens in the game when it freezes due to a screen shot.

If the game was working before try clearing the contents of the shadercache folder (may cause stuttering)

Hello there.

I have been using Dolphin for quite some time already, with much satisfaction. However, I noticed a problem recently: Zelda Twilight Princess crashes near the start of the game, in Faron Woods when aproaching the guy with the birds (can't remember his name). I would say it happens 9 out of 10 attempts. Downloading the latest version didn't seem to fix the problem. I already finished the game at least once with Dolphin (I am sure because I made a collection of screenshots with a resolution too high to be from the original game), however I think it was the USA version on XP, while I am now using the European version on Windows 7. I don't have the previous image nor the previous Windows XP, so I can't have a check.

I tried to find a log, but I found only a file in the User/Logs directory that contained useless data (such as not finding a file, which continues to grow each time I start Dolphin even if I don't launch any game). I started Dolphin in Visual Studio 2010 with the DebugFast configuration (32 bits) and got a neat and clean crash mentioning "HLE System tried to call an undefined HLE function 459635." , immediately followed by an access violation with the following stack:
Code:
>    DolphinDF.exe!PowerPC::InstructionCache::ReadInstruction(unsigned int addr) Line 156    C++
DolphinDF.exe!Memory::Read_Opcode_JIT(const unsigned int _Address) Line 485    C++
DolphinDF.exe!PPCAnalyst::Flatten(unsigned int address, int * realsize, PPCAnalyst::BlockStats * st, PPCAnalyst::BlockRegStats * gpa, PPCAnalyst::BlockRegStats * fpa, bool & broken_block, PPCAnalyst::CodeBuffer * buffer, int blockSize, unsigned int * merged_addresses, int capacity_of_merged_addresses, int & size_of_merged_addresses) Line 375    C++
DolphinDF.exe!Jit64::DoJit(unsigned int em_address, PPCAnalyst::CodeBuffer * code_buf, JitBlock * b) Line 475    C++
DolphinDF.exe!Jit64::Jit(unsigned int em_address) Line 416    C++
DolphinDF.exe!Jit(unsigned int em_address) Line 24    C++

kernel32.dll!754533aa()    Unknown
ntdll.dll!777d9ef2()    Unknown

Unfortunately, from that point I am kind of stuck. I am a professional developer, but completely lack knowledge in Gamecube/Wii hardware and software, not to mention almost non-existing knowledge of the inner workings of Dophin itself. I would gladely delve into it, if I had the time, and if it could be considered reasonable to spend months in catch-up to fix a bug that might be fixed in 5 minutes by someone with the appropriate knowledge Big Grin Anyway, if someone wants to find and fix the bug but has difficulties reproducing it, I can do all the work in finding and checking if needed, just guide me in the correct direction Wink

Try to use LLE.

What processor have you got exactly?

I'm using an Intel Core Duo ~3GHz.

I managed to lay my hands on an old laptop with Windows XP. Horrendously slow, but it crashed the exact same way.

Do you mean the audio LLE ? I'll have to find my DSP dump, if I still have it. Or remember how I managed to extract it the first time :p

Edit: Audio LLE didn't do the trick. I re-extracted the dsp dump from my Wii, put it where Dolphin wanted it to be, and it crashed nonetheless Sad
