This isn't related to the previous conversation but, If anyone is having trouble with the EFB->RAM setting being too slow, I've found a way to play with EFB->Texture and still have a (mostly) working minimap.
Set your EFB->Texture and move the slider to the right. Then open Dolphins hotkey settings and add a hotkey for "toggle EFB copies". After transitioning areas just press your hotkey three times and your minimap will fix itself. You can also use something like xpadder if you play with a controller and want to map it to a controller button. I'm not sure if this will work for everyone, I'm running the game in Dolphin 4.0 x64, DX11 with "skip EFB access from CPU" enabled to remove the lens flare issue, and my sound is on the default HLE (I've never changed it from default settings because I've never had a problem with it).
