Does anybody else get an error about Dolphin not responding when you exit from Zelda?
Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Zelda: TP 2. Load a save state 3. Hit ESC and click 'yes' when asked if you want to end emulation Dolphin becomes non-responsive, and eventually windows produces an error message that Dolphin has stopped responding. and asks if you want to close it. Oddly enough, this problem did not appear in dolphin 3.0-751 . Also, it does not always occur if you use a saved game (from the games built-in save function) rather than a state save. 03-20-2014, 03:22 AM

Would anyone know which is the best revision to play this game? It would really help to know one that does not lag a lot and have low frame skipping like 5 -15 fps in hyrule field. sugeest one that has 15 - 25 in hyrule field please

Hi, I'm having issues with getting a reasonable framerate out of this game. Currently I'm in the first dungeon and the output sticks around at 17-19 fps.
The resolution I'm playing at is native 1920x1584, no additional enhancements such as AA etc. with OpenGL. Other games such as Super Mario Galaxy work just fine, the first minutes in Ordon worked out as well, but now it seems to get worse and worse. What I also noticed is that my CPU doesn't seem to be stressed out even though there's obviously space for improvment fps-wise. My setup is: CPU: i7 3770K GPU: ASUS GTX 660 Ti DirectCU II RAM: 16 GB Corsair XMS3 Are there any adjustments I could make to get this game smooth-running? Thank you! edit: Oh, it also happens that sometimes the game runs in 30 fps, but on the next start it slows down drastically, even though it is the same area. 03-21-2014, 11:35 PM
Hi ExtremeDude2,
the CPU is not OC'd; it's at stock settings with 3,5 Ghz, respectively 3,9 Ghz with Intel's Turbo Boost. Temperatures are fine, no heavy programs running in the background. I also made some changes to the resolution, turned it down to 640x528 where the game ran at consistent 30 fps. Turned it up again to 1920x1584 and it still worked at 30 fps. So I can't figure any pattern in framerate breakdowns. 03-21-2014, 11:38 PM
I'd try OC'ing since you have not done so, you will need it later in the game anyway (the farther you get the slower hyrule field gets)

Alright, thank you. I'll see what I can do.
I just found out that I can just restart the game/emulation if I have low fps. Somehow the same section will run smoothly in 30 fps then. Might have to restart a couple of times though before I get the 30 frames, which doesn't make any sense. |
