As the Wiki of this game states, the sound is pretty messed up.
Wind Waker Wiki Wrote:* Sound and music cut out at various points. I don't suppose there's a way to fix this? 06-21-2010, 05:11 AM
Nope. But you can lessen the problems by using a patched version of the audio plugin which we posted a link to on the wiki.

What exactly do you mean by "lessen?"
Anyway, I don't see a link to any patch on the Wiki, only the configuration guide. 06-22-2010, 08:45 AM
I'm sorry, I was thinking of twilight princess. Their is an audio patch for WW but it was committed into dolphin a long time ago. Any build since 47xx will have it. So no, nothing more you can do.

Using the 5786 revision I got selective audio... Meaning that I only got audio from some things, mainly running, slashing and jumping, but no music, no sound from NPCs, no ambient sounds either except from birds. Water sound wasn't there either.
I switched to Dolphin 2.0 and it works perfectly fine with the same settings: CPU->EFB access - OFF (sun glares aren't important to me and it fixes the blur problem as said in the wiki) Disable FOG - ON Enable EFB Copy - To RAM All options in "Enhancements" on. Anti-alias mode: 2.25x SSAA Enable Audio Throttle - OFF Enable RE0 Audio Hack - OFF The other ones on in the DSP. Everything else except for resolution is at default settings. Just got on the fist fortress, no crashes, no glitches, no problems. Except for audio in cinematics being a bit late, but no biggy at all... I figure I mention this in case any one is having problems with Wind Waker, oh and it's PAL. I'm getting 100% speed constantly, never dropped below 100%, not even once. My comp: Core i7 930 @ 3.4ghz OC Geforce GTX260 default speed 6GB ram W7 x64 *edit* Got my first freeze when I met the "boat" the first time. I reloaded a save state and it worked. I've taken a habit of making a save state every 5 minutes and saving in game every 10 minutes. Seems to get rid of freezes somehow when I do regular save states (or it's just a coincidence). 06-27-2010, 04:27 AM

I was watching some walkthrough in youtube, and they don't suffer from the problem (?) how it is possible? *sorry for my english 06-27-2010, 04:42 AM

The item hack thingie didn't do anything for me in regards to the audio problem, only switching to 2.0 fixed it for me hehe, odd how random it is. o.O As for the tearing there is no solution for that aside from some (according to the wiki) people reporting that using a low resolution + render to ram makes it less intense. I just rushed through that dungeon, I agree, it's annoying but not much one an do about it. ![]() 06-27-2010, 05:45 AM

If you use the native resolution (640 x 480) with efb to ram the problem goes away. Problem is no one wants to use the native resolution.
