hmm, disable fog. Also set the EFB to GL Texture.

I also suggest that you try if possible, getting a PAL version. PAL runs faster than NTSC because it has a lower top framerate (50) so less frames are rendered.

oh and disable any frame limiting options like audio throttle.

When I disable the settings and boot the game, all the graphics are blue and gray and the FPS is still the same. I'll also try getting a PAL version in the meantime

My bad, I mean Alpha Destination. Sorry about that.

Hi guys, I need some help. Im using the latest x64 build (svn r 3661)

The game hangs / turns black after the intro sequence explaining the story. I have sound partially working and getting great fps. Using all default settings except my controller plugin & full screen video size.

Notes on sound:

Beginning Title Music not working 'sometimes', seagulls make noises sometimes, partial ambient sounds off an on. One time everything seemed okay, the others not.

"New Game / Game Select Menu" Full sound, including music and sound effects although mixing is not perfect.

"Intro / Story @ beginning" No Sound/Music, just the 2d story pictures.

Also: seems that anywhere past the opening game select screen sound goes out Sad

Anyone: Any tips on sound? Anyone with close to full working sound, please let us know your settings on everything! It seems some things checked on and off impact sound working.

Can someone post a saved state? I'd prefer a saved state of the game right after the intro scene (when it turns to the in-game) and when you begin the game and gain control of link for the first time. Thank you. I haven't been able to get past this and its frustrating!

FYI Hardware Specs

Windows Vista Ultimate x64
Intel Core i7 920 Nahelem @ 2.66ghz
3 GB DDR3 Ram @ 12800
Nvidia Evga GTX 260 / 896 mb RAM
Driver Version 186.18

Running @ 1680x1050 widescreen resolution
4x AA
2x Anisotropic Filtering

60+fps, consistently, able to achieve and maintain Vsync if activated.

Here is a screen of how good Its looking on my machine:

Have you tried turning the item hang patch on and off?

Yes. Enabling/Disabling caused certain things to change, but I did manage to figure out settings that got me past the intro story.

I have noticed a few things that I can reproduce:

1. Selecting File > Open then my .iso, I will get some/partial sound

2. Adding my iso to the list below the toolbar and launching from there, sound will not work, period.

3. Ive managed to get past the hanging in the intro, but from then on no sound.

The only place I can get full working sound is on the game select or create new game menu, where I have full music and sound effects moving the cursor and selecting letters to create a name, etc.

Beyond that, in game where I have control of Link, no sound, period. I am sure many who come here are only interested in playing Wind Waker, as it is an exclusive title and an amazing game. But the game without sound is terrible, considering how amazing the sound is and how many things are directly correlated. I'm sure at this point, I could probably play through the entire game hitch free, but without sound I'm not gonna bother.

Honestly I think sound should be a major priority given that video seems to be working and quite awesomely too.

I'm also waiting for sound to continue this game. I've gotten past a dungeon but it doesn't seem much point if I can't hear it.

I think Ector is pouring his heart and soul into sound implementation at the moment. Only a few revs ago WW sound was working for the first time. Now it's just a matter of balancing the various in-game sound types - i.e. Link's sword vs background music.

Ah don't worry about it, mate. Still got the slow FPS even with the Alpha Destination disabled though. Any other ideas?

That doesn't work for me. Whenever I have sound active (By disabling the Item Hang fix) I still get a black screen/grey screen after cutscenes or when entering a building (Rare when entering a building)

Even with the Unlimted Jit Cache it still happens (However I seem to get more sounds with it...Placebo effect?)

So, there isn't a definitive solution to the Black screen hang problems after cutscenes right?

i guess not, u should play in older revisions to pass those parts. But i have another problem: just at entrance of the dragon roost cave there are some big black boxes that roll all over the screen and dont let me see everything, its like a graphic glitch or something like that. does anyone know how to solve this??

To get around those parts I usually just save. And load up the save game with Item Hang fix active. And it works
