These settings seem to work in most cases.
Give feedback if you get unexpected results.

It's a known issue and has not been solved yet.
I think it's due to the difficult sound emulation for this game which has a special sound "process" like Mario Sunshine and some others, but I don't know the technical details of the problem.

Hey everyone, I'm a total noob (this is my first post!). Anyway, need help for wind waker. I was playing the game happily until I meet the King of Red Lions, then the screen goes black with lack of sound and FPS accelerates to about 50% higher than usual. Got no idea why (think maybe game I have is just knacked). Also, I heard many people saying dolphin works better with D3D9 plugin instead of OpenGL plugin, but when I use the D3D9 plugin whatever game I play just gives a black screen with higher than usual FPS. Please Help cos this game looks sweeeeet!

My laptop specs (this was good for a laptop 18 months ago, but now sucks):
OS: Vista (32bit)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 @2.00GHz, 667MHz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650, 512MB
RAM: 3GB DDR2

Update DirectX, even if you think that you already have the last version. It should solve the problem with DX9 plugin.
Take a look at the wiki page too.

I'm gonna try out some other settings in DirectX . I don't use widescreen hack as it causes more trouble than simply setting a 16:9 rez with no particular hack. Yeah it's stretched but it's still way better than on my GC and its poor 640*480 & composite cable. Thanks again for your answers.

Use Dx, with cpu-efb turned off and efb to ram.

Yeah, that's what I did and I updated the wiki Smile
Edit : just saw that you reorganized the section, thanks.

Yeah, good job on finding that. You clearly spent a lot of time playing with settings. And you contributed something useful, unlike the guy that listed "bad performance" under problems, or the person that removed the audio settings section because it was "not related to this particular game". Had he actually played the game he would know why audio throttling being off is important.

Thank you Smile
I think the wiki should be highlighted on the Dolphin site, it would certainly help a lot of people and prevent the forum from being too much flooded.
