Okay, here are my settings for Dolphin (running 5353):

Enable Dual Core
Enable Idle Skipping
JIT Recompiler
HLE the IPL
Use Panic Handlers

Here are the settings for the graphics plugin:

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
Enable CPU ->EFB Access
EFB to Texture

Anything not written here is disabled. Properties for the game itself are unchanged.
EDIT: Tried changing the frame limit to Auto. Now it's running at 15. Is my computer too weak, perhaps?

So you have efb disabled! Oh god. I can't believe I'm saying this but I would really recommend an earlier build. Like 5312 by mamario.

Global:
Enable Dual Core
Enable Idle Skipping
HLE The IPL
JIT Recompiler
Framelimit: Auto
Uncheck lock threads to cores, dsplle on thread, confirm on stop, and panic handlers
Plugins:
Direct3D9
DSP-HLE
Graphics:
Do not use Widescreen hack
Anti-alias: None
Enable CPU EFB Access
Enable efb copy to texture and efb scaled copy
Disable safe texture cache
Disable use XFB
Disable use real xfb
Disable fog
Audio:
Dsound
Enable HLE Audio
Enable DTK Music
Uncheck enable audio throttle and RE0 audio hack

You just need to stay above 30 fps to run at full speed. Anything higher than that is excessive. Most GC and wii games are not designed to run at high framerates like 60 fps and doing so will cause the game to run twice as fast as normal.

Sorry for not posting them before but here are my settings:

Enable Dual Core - checked
Enable Idle Skipping - checked
Framelimit - 60
HLE the IPL - checked
JIT recompiler - checked
Use Panic Handlers - checked

Graphics plugin - OpenGL
Settings for OpenGL:

Native Resolution
Windowed: 640x480 Fullscreen: 640x480
Keep aspect ratio - Auto Aspect
Anisotropic filter - 1x
AA - off
PPS - off
Overlay FPS - checked
Disable Fog - checked
Copy EFB to GL texture - checked
Bleach Versus Crusade hack - on

This is the current settings I have my emulator on. I keep my resolution low to try and speed things up but so far it seems as though it's about 50% speed even with these settings.

No good. It's fine during the intro cutscene, but drops drastically to less than 50% as soon as the game starts (with Aryll calling for Link).

Exactly same problem I have to be honest. Don't know why exactly this happens, seeing as people have said I've got a system that should be able to handle this Huh

I might have had a similar problem, can't remember. Try playing the game for a little while, walk around on the ground of outset island and see if your framerate is still low.

Edit: Evan I can't believe this but I didn't look at your specs before I responded. Your cpu just barely meets what you should have for this game, but it should be enough, your gpu on the other hand....well it literally as low as you can go no the nvidia scale while still meeting the system requirements of dolphin. I would tell you to try using 640 x 480 as your resolution but due to the way graphics are done by this game (lots of efb usage) even that probably won't be enough, any way you can upgrade to a better discrete graphics card?

First off use direct3d9 not opengl, you'll get a huge speedup. If that's not enough then your cpu is insufficient. From what I have seen in dolphin core 2 duo @ 2.0GHz = Phenom II @ 2.0GHz = Core i3/i5/i7 @ 2.0GHz (remember to factor in turbo boost) = Athlon II @ 2.3 GHz = Athlon X2 @ 2.6GHz = Pentium D @ 3.9GHz = Athlon 64 @ 5.2GHz = Pentium 4 @ 7.8GHz.

The game often slows down (along with the music).
During cinematics the sound is faster than what is being shown.
And sometimes after cinematics the screen goes black and becomes unresponsive.

My computer specs are:

HP Pavilion laptop (I know laptops aren't great for games but I'm on the go)
Windows Vista 32 bit
IntelCore 2 DuoCPU T8100 2.1GHZ (I'm pretty sure this is a dualcore so I have dualcore speedup checked)
nVidia Geforce 8400M GS 1521 MB
3.0 GB of RAM
DirectX10

I also want to know why Dolphin DirectX9 isn't working right (I hear sound but get no picture). If I could get Dolphin DirectX9 to work I feel this game would run much better on this computer.

Thanks in advance.

I'm having these exact problems. I'm using the new Dolphin 2.0 release, though I've also been using r54321 (not sure who's build at the moment), both 64-bit versions.

My system specs:

Motherboard: Asus P7P55D
RAM: 4GB Corsair DDR3
CPU: Intel Core i5-750 (Quad Core)
GPU: Asus EAH5970 ATI Radeon HD 5870
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

My plugins:

Graphics: Dolphin Direct3D 9
DSP: Dolphin DSP-HLE Plugin
Gamecube Pad: Dolphin GCPad New (whatever happened to Falcon's nJoy pad plugin? I can only ever find it in old builds)
Wiimote: Dolphin Wiimote Plugin

My config screenshots are attached.

I can run Wind Waker okay with the OpenGL plugin, aside from the game randomly slowing down, and sound in cutscenes being out of sync (and of course, the smoke/heat graphical bug) but I keep reading that the DX9 plugin's the one to use. I'd think I'd be able to use it on my machine, but I just get a black screen.

I got the newest version of DirectX today and although the graphics are crappier it runs like a few frames faster. I've found it runs fine in houses and like smaller environments, its just islands and big expansive views that seem to lag it down to 14fps or something like that.

Hi all, just like to say I have had this emu for a little under a month now and for the most part it's perfect so thanx.

The wind waker is one of my fav games and I can get it to run at any fps i like even though the games native fps is 35 - 40 i believe (not sure) but i can get it to run at 60fps. I mentioned this to someone the other day and apprently i am using an older build of the emu, it is SVN R 4771 and I can give you a detailed breakdown of my settings if you so need.

However I have a small problem myself!! intermittently, and for no reason i can see, when the game is loading between major story changes, it appears to hang and stop, the emu is still running but the game ceases to, everything is running perfect up until that point and it has happened lots of times: By the deku tree after he speaks to me, after you rescue aryll before the big bird fight, and most recently when you leave tetra (zelda) for the first time in the tower of the gods!! Any help on resolving this will make this game pretty much perfect for me.

Like i said, if you need more in depth settings then please let me know which ones.

My specs.

Win 7 x64
AMD Phenom 2 x4 940 Black edition @3.0ghz
MSI 790gx
4gig ram
8800gs 384meg
1tb hdd
580watt psu
Xtreme gpu drivers, hacked.

many thanks.

Update directx and your drivers then tell me if you still see a black screen.

All of them! Get used to instinctively posting both your specs, build, and settings whenever you need help with anything on this forum. I can tell you right now some of those problems can be resolved by updating to a newer build.
