Randomly the screen suddenly goes black, i.e. the hud is still there, I can even see on the map that I'm moving, but the sound effects are missing also...only the BGM is playing then...
I've had this issue on Link's home island as well as on that merchants' island now...however, I didn't have it in the forsaken fortress (or whatever the name was)...

I've been having the same issue using r4322 and the OpenGL plugin. It's not very frequent, but it seems just randomly the screen will go black for 30 seconds or even a minute or so. I've had it happen a couple of times when Link speaks to someone, the screen will go black but then it will come back with the new camera angle on the conversation. I also had it happen climbing a ladder on the outdoor section of the Dragon's Roost dungeon - about when the camera would swing up to see Link facing an enemy (a bird, I think) the screen went black and it didn't come back until the bird had knocked me off the ladder and Link fell back down to the ground.

Haw...in my case it stays the way it is, i.e. black. How about sounds in your case? Any sound effects (like the "hep!" when Link does a roll)?

I'll just post my settings, maybe there's something I forgot or got wrong...if so, anyone please tell me Smile

Basic Settings: Dual Core: checked
Enable Idle Skipping: Checked
Others: unchecked
Framelimit: Off , Watchdog: 60
Advanced Settings: All Checked

DX9 plugin:
Fullscreen & V-Sync: Checked
Aspect ratio: 4:3
Fullscreen res: 1600x1200
AAmode: 16xQ CSAA
Safe Texture Cache: Unchecked

Enhancements: Both checked
Advanced: Nothing checked (only wireframe which doesn't seem to be configurable)

HLE-DSP: Everything checked but RE0-fix

EDIT: A strange bug, this one...
The BGM even mostly changes when the screen goes black...
Anyway, I got a temporary fix for now: just using the telescope or switching to "first person view", then the blackness disappears...
BTW, is the lens flair effect missing in DX9 a known issue?

This has always worked for me. Press L to center then C-Up. (First person view) I like how the music changes to the sailing music sometimes when this happens. Maybe the game thinks that Link is suddenly positioned out at sea. I think the lens flare works in newer builds with D3D just fine. I haven't compared it to the original in a while though.

I've using pretty much the same settings as you, StriptheSoul except I'm using OpenGL.

(Also I found that using Copy EFB to System RAM and turning off Anti-Aliasing lets me use the Pictograph without crashing.)

And yeah, I think I was getting sounds, either sounds of Link doing stuff or, like neohx_7 there was at least once where I'd get the sailing music, and I think then I wasn't getting any other sounds.

I've also run into a few instances where I'd go into a dungeon room and all the floors are missing and Link just falls into nothingness and the game crashes, but I think it's related to save-states. Reloading from a memcard save has always fixed it.

Hm, nope, lens flair doesn't seem to be fixed (in DX9)...thx for the "C-Up"-trick but that's what I meant with my "temporary fix" ^^

Well, it's pretty well playable like this...only that ugliness in the Dragon Roost Cavern gives me headaches and it seems both plugins produce it...so I guess it's an issue of the emulator itself, huh? Or is there any fix I haven't heard of?

Heya, I just got out of the Tower of the Gods (no platform bug, btw) and entered that underwater Hyrule Castle...however, there, everything but Link himself is absolutely pixelated...and I mean bigtime, like 640x480 or so *g*
Is that a known issue? Any fix for that?
Thx!

EDIT: Playing with latest rev (orlean's) and DX9 plugin

It should be black and white instead of blurry, no fix.

Enabling the "Zelda TP Bloom Hack" restores the high resolution environment, but unfortunately the hack also turns everything to color.
Playing the game for the first time I assumed that it supposed to be that way until changing the video settings.
After all it does make more sense. Since when does stopping time makes everything black and white? Last time I checked that wasn't the case.

But if it has to be black and white it can be done via the post-processing shader grayscale.

Hm, it was in color with or without the hack, but it actually fixed the low-res-problem...thanks for the advice Smile

Damnit...I'm stuck in that volcano thingy where I'm supposed to get the power gloves. Always in the last part where I fight those magma scorpion beasts, Dolphin freezes...is that a known issue, i.e. is there a known fix for that?
Running r4407, DX9 and OpenGL plugins both produced the freeze so I guess it's an emulator issue...
