Hello,

I've been reading this thread for a while but I can't grasp all the tecnical aspects being discussed here (I'm not a native english speaker).

My issue with Wind Waker is the low FPS (about 22-25 when strolling in huge areas, like the island at the start of the game).

I use a Intel E8400 DUO CPU at 3.00 ghz, 2 gb RAM (DDR 2 I guess) and an 8800 GT. I don't understand if this should be enough or if am using incorrect dolphin settings. Sorry if this is a worn out debate.

Thank you in advance.

I'm not, it really is slower when moving in larger areas.

Well, I tweaked it a little, and I don't seem to be having FPS issues.

The game hangs while taking a pictograph.

I'm using a PS2 controller and I can't seem to map the D-pad buttons correctly, and when I press down on the C-analog (Right analog on my pad) the dungeon map automatically shows up. I don't think it should work this way.

Yep, same thing happened to me. I haven't figured out if the pictograph is essential to the game yet though. I am getting 30fps stable with my config (see my sig) using the d3d plugin (1920x1080,4xAA,filtering,etc). I tried using a ps2 pad as well, but found a x360 pad with the pc dongle was preferable as all the buttons are already mapped and it's wireless.

How did you get it working with D3D plugin? I've been trying, but it doesn't go pass the initial nintendo screen. (What did you mean with "see my sig"?) Sorry about the noob questions.

Do you know any good references to see what are the optimal settings for a given GC/WII game?

What video card do you have? I'll post my settings here but those may or may not help you. Let me know how it works out for you. By in my sig, i meant my computer specs were there.

Here is a good resource for optimal settings: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-3713.html also check out emuforums' dolphin forum for further compatibility discussion.

Note: the 640x480 dolphin is showing is incorrect, it should be 1920x1080, but my plasma tv wasn't connected. Replace that value with the native resolution of your monitor.

Additionally,
in the GFX screen of the D3D plugin under enhancements:
- force bi/tri filtering checked (optional)

in the GFX screen of the D3D plugin under Advanced:
- nothing checked

well, i use a ps2 controller too, but actually, i'm using the right analog for camera control and the hat for the c-analog functions, thought it was better, never tried the the way you did !
