Save state right before the end of the cut scene then enable the fix item hang patch and load the state. Once the cut scene finishes go ahead and save the game in the intended way through the pause menu. Disable the patch and restart the game and all should be well.

Please be aware that all sound except for footsteps will be disabled while the patch is activated. The sound should be back to normal after disabling the patch and reloading the game.

Well, I'm just about out of ideas on this. I'm getting one of two seemingly random hangs. One where the screen goes blank with the exception of the interface and menus, and the BGM/ character effects cut out, just leaving the sound of the sea. The Damnedest thing about this is that when the screen goes black, I can still save and exit, so the emu itself doesn't hang. Any suggestions?

The second intermittent hang is a hard stop on the EMU, I can still load/save state, but the game itself locks totally, just spitting out half second bursts of noise and a stuck picture.

Stats and config below.
  • Intel i7 930 @ 2.8
  • 9.0GB RAM
  • Widows 7 x64
  • ATI HD 5670 1GB
  • Dolphin 3.0-191

Screenshots of the latest config to crash on me are attached. The LLE is SLOW on my machine, even when relegated to one of the 8 available cores, and I know for a fact that I get the total hang with that changed, not sure about the black screen.

I've twiddled with the settings so much by now, starting with the wiki suggested settings, and no dice, anybody have a fix?

Texture cache needs to be somewhere in the middle, efb to "texture" should be used instead of "ram" for now. Try not playing in full screen and see what happens.

That does seem to be helping. Thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye on it!

I have successfully extracted the .arc files (using szstools) on the Wind Waker disc on my quest to find the looping BGM tracks used by Wind Waker. These files all have the .bms file format, in no way related to Be-Music Script. These files cannot be played with the vgmstream and related Winamp plugins. Do you know what programs can play these files? Huh

Sorry NV, but that is completely wrong.
@snesiscool, I would like to know the same thing (and a good player for the .aw files too).

It was supposed to be a joke if that wasn't obvious (I thought it was).
