I'm using the settings from the dolphin wiki, and the game runs at full speed but when I enter combat the speed drops to around 80% no matter whether I use native internal res or 3x.

What revision are you using?! You should be full speed all the time. Use default settings and try again.

Try default settings. You really should be full speed. Also, lower the graphics. Where is this happening?

I'm @ dragon roost and it's unplayable cause of the heat, anyone have a save game to share (pal) when the dungeon is finshed?

So far the game does seem to run fairly well on my computer @ native resolution with 9xAA and 16xAF. I may try it at 720p later to see if the performance is about the same. I get typically 30 fps most of the time with the occasional dip to maybe 24-26 DPS in certain intense areas, but I get so into the game I don't even notice when it happens unless I just stare at my FPS counter.

Hardware:
Intel E2160 @ 3 GHz [I'm surprised this thing runs anything at all!]
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (default clock speeds)
4 GB DDR2 PC6400 RAM
Windows 7 SP1 x64
Dolphin v3.0

If you want to run at a higher resolution you'll have to turn off SSAA. That video card can handle 1080p just fine so long as SSAA is off.

Try OpenGL or EFB to Texture. There was a way I did it but it was after I passed DR and got to the pre boss room in Forbidden Woods, and I have since forgotten exactly how I changed my settings. If your video card is DX11 capable and you have DX11, try using D3D11.
  • Intel Core i7-2600 QC processor (8MB Cache, 3.4GHz)
  • CPU Instructions : MMX, SSE (1, 2, 3, 3S, 4.1, 4.2), EM64T, VT-x, AES, AVX
  • ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB GDDR5
  • RAM: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

I have dx10, but I really don't see how that can help... Tried open gl and EFB to texture as well, as far as i know there is no solution? I'm talking about the "flickering image" (makes it unplayable @ dragon roost) and not the "transparent" fire effect or what you call it... Don't wanna play on my gamecube as it looks horrible on my 40" hdtv
