Funny you should ask I just recently discovered how to fix that problem. All you have to is to set EFB copies to RAM or turn your texture cache to safe(changing the texture cache doesn't really much but if you don't fix you EFB copies the heat effect will cause that weird image splicing thing). Your display will still do that weird waving thing but at least you should be able to see what you're doing.

Back to the FPS problem, I changed the resolution back to .75 and it definitely helped. Thanks
Although I think the other guy is right in saying that my game will always be slow. Ah well at least it has become a bareable speed(10 FPS lol Big Grin)

EDIT: Oh! lowering the resolution actually fixes the heat wave problem. I lowered my resolution to 1x Native(640x520) and when I went into the volcano the heat problem was SO much better. You can barely see the waves anymore and it improved my performance(The only problem is lowering the resolution makes the game graphics crappier). But you don't have to play all the game with that resolution just dragon roost cavern.

Hmm your first fix above I have not tried any of that, will try that when I get home

In regards to any native resolution etc, I changed the resolution between everything and changed the 720p, 1080p etc resolutions and fiddled alot, turned off force 16:9 and turned off hack wide screen and it becomes BETTER, but still continually cuts in and out instead of the typical affect it should have on the Gamecube itself, but i'll try your first fix.

Thanks.

Hi again, I got it all working again! It was just dust, but a lot of it! Ain't nothing like an air compressor to fix that little problem Tongue

Anyways, I'm totally into this game! Works flawlessly for the most part, but I have a question, is there any way to fix the freezes? It happens pretty rarely, but thats because it seems to be connected to the dungeons and especially bosses (i.e. dragon roost, forsaken fortress). It seems to happen when I have just defeated the boss and walk into the teleport thingy, where I get warped. Then a greyish screen comes, but it just hangs and stays.
It also happened to me right before the helmaroc king (big bad bird) boss battle, but then I turned on this item hang fix, but this kills the sound which is lame.

Is there any other way? (or can you help me not kill the sound with item hang fix on)

Ps. I have dolphin 3.0 Smile Sincerely, me Smile

Try to use LLE, or just suck up no sound. Dolphin used to never have sound for Zelda games.

Yeah, I've heard that, and I wasn't really trying to be demanding or anything, just looking for an alternative, which you gave me Smile
But I can't really decipher your acronym, LLE?

That's a new one for me, but if I get the gist of it (the one wiki just gave me), it's more accurate emulation in exchange for some performance, yes? (or no, speak freely friends)

Sooooo... can't really seem to see the option for it anywhere... So yet again, I'm afraid, could you tell me how to do that? Blush

It's under DSP, then select Use DSP LLE Recompiler. However, you'll have to dump the two files used by LLE from your Wii. Instructions here: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=3823

No no no you got it all wrong. I wasn't talking about lowering the SCREEN resolution, I was talking about lowering the INTERNAL RESOLUTION. Screen resolution just changes the size the games gonna be on your screen. The creen resolution probably should be as close your computer resolution as possible(if you want the game to be fullscreen that is.) Internal resolution actually changes the graphics. You can find it under graphics>enhancements>internal resolution. Although beware of changing the graphics to (Native).75 it makes it REALLY crappy. But definitely speeds up emulation. And the heat wave should be close to nothing(and everything else will be too lol).

Freezing Issue...

During the final cutscene I always get a freeze up, it's when the screen goes to that 60fps pre-recorded type movie. I've tried it with the item hack too and it still freezes. Anybody have any ideas? I saw nearly the same question posted around page 141, but there wasnt much of a solution. Also i've tried this on version 3 and the last build as of this writing 7689.
