Hey, I'm new to Dolpin. Trying to get Wind Waker playable. At the moment, there's too much audio and video lag. A lot of the information on how to get it to work smoothly on this site and online generally is contradictory and I am left very, very confused as to whether it is even possible to emulate Wind Waker well.
My specs are: Intel Core 2 Quad Core Q6600 @ 2.4GHz 8GB DDR2 RAM Radeon HD 6950 I've tried downloading LLE for audio but it doesn't fix the problem, in fact it may just even have made it worse. Also tried fiddling with emulation settings but can't get it to work. Thanks in advance. edit: after fiddling around, I seem to have gotten it to be working fine. But there were some audio issues in the opening cutscene. Kept hearing audio tearing every few seconds or so. 07-07-2011, 11:23 PM

Does sound work in this game? I've read few posts saying the sound doesn't work. I played 10 mins so far and still have it. Does it disappear later on or what?

Sound is working pretty much OK with HLE and perfect with LLE. Haven't used HLE for quite some time now and don't know if the intro music still skips out in HLE but in game never had any issues with this game.
Thank you very much for your answers.
But, LLE is "DSPLLE on thread" option? And HLE is what? ... Thanks 07-08-2011, 08:23 PM
DSP is the sound config as Graphics is the graphic config. you can choose HLE or LLE. HLE will be less demanding/performant because LLE is the "real" sound. To use LLE you need to get it from a Wii. LLE on thread assign the sound on a core

No LLE is not that option LLE = Low Level Emulation HLE = High Level Emulation In HLE a software platform is created on which the emulated code can be run in a host computer having different hardware and a different instruction set. By contrast, the traditional way of emulating is termed Low-level emulation, or LLE which is used to develop new computer hardware and execute legacy binary code. 07-08-2011, 08:53 PM
Oh yes, just played through the whole dungeon again and saved at multiple slots to be sure I can try it again to get beyond the grey loading screen and it worked. Completed dungeon 1. Thanks for your support gabriel.
