You should have no problem. However, maybe you should think about overclocking your proc.
I play the game flawlessly on an early 6000 rev, but older revs work fine and may be faster. I suggest you to download a revision including the cutscene sound fix; check out Xtreme2damax's revs (in the SVN forum board). And 64 bits is always better with Dolphin.

64 bit
Try either the latest revision or 5186. It should run well.

Completed the game, hangs after the "The End" screen but
I'm sure it should ask if I want to make a file for a second play through (the game never hung before).

Any suggestions? Sorry if this has been asked 1000 times.

I just wish the heat effect glitch could be fixed and this game is close to perfection

Is there some setting in particular that affects the game freezing after cutscenes? I'm sorry if this has been asked like a billion times, give or take a few million.

Otherwise the game runs quite smooth and mostly at 100% speed. Occasional 1-2 fps hiccups (though only tested as far as the summit on Outset Island). There's some chops in the audio also, but overall it's perfectly playable.

Gaming rig:
Q9550 @3,8GHz
Radeon HD6950 2GB (unlocked to 6970 specs)
4GB 1066MHz RAM
Windows 7 x64

A couple of causes exist. Some audio patches exist which help fix desyncing cutscene audio but cause blackscreen crashes after cutscenes sometimes. If you are using a build from lectrode or xtreme2damax with one of these patches it may be causing it. Another potential cause is the item hang. This can be fixed by activating the fix item hang patch found in the game properties.

Yeah, I'm using build 7095 from xtreme2damax. The item hang patch seems to break audio. Only some of the sound effects work with it on. So are there any other options than to put up with either the black screens, audio desync or no sound at all? Propably could just use save states right before cutscenes if nothing else works.

Just use an unpatched build and when you encounter a crash turn on the patch, get past it, save, turn off the patch, restart the emulator/game with the patch off.

link to the pasts builds works with fix item hang + audio working at the same time. atleast build 7060 does.

Then either the patch isn't working, you didn't wait long enough, or they changed something that I don't know about VERY recently.
