Having a weird issue in WW. I get the same results in 3.5. I am wondering if LLE on thread could be to blame (the wife is playing it as I type and has no intentions on letting me test Wink ). I use LLE (obviously) and DX 9 along with the recommended settings in this thread (all others are default other than 3x IR). My issues are:
1) The music cuts out (gets staticky and the sound effects sort of double up...hard to explain) sometimes it fixes itself and returns later, while others it persists until a crash (the screen and music freeze). This seems to happen at random intervals and random points in the game.
2) The boat will randomly be in the middle of the map (five eye reef) when i leave the an area (like outset or any other island for that matter) to go into another area and come back (for example going into a house). Sometimes drowning will put me back where I was, other times it just puts me at 5 eye reef. This one is SUPER puzzling.

I used the same image as I did last time I played it (it is on the same internal HDD and everything and I had zero problems last time using 3.0) so I am not sure that a bad/corrupted dump is to blame. Plus it is my understanding that 3.5 checks for that sort of thing...is that correct?

I did a complete reinstall of my OS and all the components, updated DirectX, drivers, the whole shibang (it was about that time anyway). I also ran Intel Burn Test and Prime for CPU stability and it was fine. Temps never above 66 deg. I ran Furmark and GPU never got above 76 deg, so I am not sure it is a stability issue either.

Any ideas or experience with this type of thing? I know it is a long post, but kind of alot is going on Smile

Thanks for all your expert help!

LLE on Thread may cause freezes in this game. That's probably the problem

Thanks LordVador. I had a gut feeling it may be to blame. I will disable it next time she quits and see if that resolves the issues. I will report back here if it does.

No dice on the staticky music issue here. although we have not experienced the boat or freeze issues after disabling LLE on thread. I have used my own LLE dump with 3.0 and also the given LLE for 3.5 but still get the staticky music. Any thoughts on what would cause this? I also get the same static when playing Baten Kaitos in 3.5 (with my LLE). Any ideas?

Update:

I cannot find a single game that does this in 3.0, it seems to be specific to 3.5 official release.

I thought you had this issue with 3.0 too so it looked weird to me. I'll see if I get the same issue with 3.5 but I haven't tried enough games yet with the new release. Which games have you tried (besides Zelda WW)?

If its the audio issue that is currently being talked about I have had problems after playing for about an hour+ on WW and ToS(GC) The issue appears before and after the AX-HLE merge to main branch.

WW, TP, Resident Evil 4, Baten Kaitos and Mario Kart Wii. All have the sound issue, but it doesnt occur in 3.0 regardless of the game I try.

Maybe you should try and find the exact Dolphin revision/commit that causes the change in audio quality. If it truly is a regression, the developers should know about it. There have been a lot of changes between 3.0 and 3.5, so it would be useful to narrow it down quite a bit at least.

Honestly I do not have alot of time to devote to it because it takes a n hour or 2 before it even shows up, but I will definitely try it out on the weekends when I have time to see when that issue was introduced.
