What's the proper way to play at 16:9 ?
I've tried: Dx11 Without 16:9 AR CODE - Aspect ratio Forced 16:9 = side black bars (on a 16:9 monitor) Without 16:9 AR CODE - Aspect ratio Forced 16:9 & widescreen hack checked = side black bars (on a 16:9 monitor) Without 16:9 AR CODE - Aspect ratio Stretched to window & widescreen hack checked = NO side black bars (on a 16:9 monitor)
Do not enable the widescreen hack if you use an AR or Gecko Code for increasing the Aspect Ratio. Just set Aspect Ratio to "Stretch to Window". Unless the code specifically tells you to enable the widescreen hack. Make sure you have the "Enable Cheats" option enabled. My guess is that your widescreen code is not working because you have not enabled codes yet. It is a cheat after all. You don't want to use the widescreen hack, because it is quite problematic. The only way to solve this is by using AR or Gecko codes. However, they differ per game and not every code may work perfectly. The Wind Waker 16:9 AR code presented on the wiki page however works without any issues in this case.
Which backend you use (in this case D3D11) is not that important for how you use codes. It is more preformance and compatibility related. OpenGL and D3D12 (for Windows 10) also work perfectly with a 16:9 Aspect Ratio setup. 06-27-2016, 02:29 AM
-AR Code (it works) enabled for the first 2 screenshots.
-Widescreen hack disabled. AR Code + Forced 16:9 = side black bars on a 16:9 monitor (fullscreen) Spoiler: Spoiler: Spoiler: 06-27-2016, 02:30 AM
Please use spoiler tags, your screenshots are filling too much space otherwise.
