hey guys, i just wanna share this coz i am a tales of symphonia fan. i've been playing this on dolphin almost perfectly, including sound. im using rev 4525, newer revs have that annoying lost instruments issue. i haven't finished the game so i can't say if it's completely bug-free, but so far it's working great! here is my config:

opengl plugin
efb to ram
safe texture
aa=8x

if you want to get rid of the blurry images use final fantasy cc: echos of time hack, but you'll have the "text balloon behind characters bug" during some scenes.

Hope this helps!

I've played and finished the whole game without any single crash, it's true that the sound is getting worse but the graphics now are almost perfect (minimap shows bug free finally). Also in Flanoir you'll get half of the speed later in the game (2nd disk), so better switch to Dx9 Wink

guys, no one here is plotting against you Tongue
a compat. list for an emu is a fickle thing, y'know? Maybe in some revision, it WAS perfect. So someone put it as such in the list. But as you might know, things tend to get broken when others get fixed...and the list is just not up-to-date...

Which leads to many of us asking questions about problems that have already been solved, or wondering why we're having problems because the game is listed as perfect...

I'll try older builds for Tales of Symphonia and Metroid Prime 2. The newer builds seems to be updated only for issues with Wii games which is a shame.
Intel Core i7 920, 16GB RAM, GTX 550ti.

Worse?
What are you talking about? Sound in ToS was always bad since the time when dolphin got a way to emulate subj. The issue is not yet fixed and -- AFAIR -- will not be fixed 'till DSP-LLE finished, coz the cause of that is too complicated (will try to find #dolphin-emu logs about it).

Hmm,did you already went thru Tethe'alla Renegade Base or the Temple of Darkness with that build?

I got past the block issue in the base but in the temple was plain impossible...

At first I wanted to use SVN R 4771 only to get past the Temple of Darkness, after that I wanted to return to SVN R 4525 but it seems like Dolphin's external files don't support degradation of the build. There was a bug with a .sfv file that I pressume that are the in-game saves....

Well dude,IT IS WORSE THAN BEFORE!I'm aware that this game never had good sould but in 4525 you could at least hear the 85% of the musical notes, enough to enjoy it a bit,but in 4771 is much worse! Now,with luck, you can only hear as much 8% of the musical notes!

I've finished the game in USA version and no problems at all, fully playable and no freeze at all.
