isn't the setting meant to be on for a speed up?

The speedup probably comes from disabling SyncOnSkipIdle, not disabling SkipIdle itself. (Disabling SkipIdle automatically disables SyncOnSkipIdle.) SyncOnSkipIdle can only be configured in Dolphin.ini, not the GUI. But be careful, disabling it can lead to problems.

^ still runs very slowly, even with hle audio, shame more accurate emulations means much slower emulation, best to stick playing on an actual console.

Hle audio actually put me back into full speed but again if you don't have a very fast Haswell or higher don't expect to play the game on dolphin its really as simple as that unfortunately.

i'm just going to stick to pc gaming, following emulation is a pain in the ass and always requires the uber best cpu's.

emulation doesn't always require the best cpus depending on console and game. you are probably not gonna be playing a game like rogue squardon well

There's only a very small selection of console games i would like to play on pc, but it doesn't justify upgrading my specs past what i need for pc gaming.

and not everyone can afford to waste money on regular pc upgrades, i only upgrade when a cetain game or games perform poorly, but most of the time it's because of bad console ports, so i either wait for a patch or just uninstall the game.

my rule of thumb > pc can play crysis > pc is ok
pc can't play crysis > upgrade

list of console games i would like to play on pc;

xenia far cry instincts predator not working
dolphin far cry wii can't play because controller issue remains unfixed
pcsx2 black ps2 playable @ 60fps but missing sky
dolphin rogue leader playable @ 60fps
dolphin rebel strike unplayable since .540, used to be playable on 60-70% underclock + skipidle off but now nothing helps speed

pretty much the only games i'm into on consoles
