will there ever be a significant improvement in speed for this game? only users with 4ghz+ can play 100% speed without underclocking and turning off idle skipping.

Try using the DX12 renderer, as it provides a good speedups across the whole game, and massive ones in certain parts of both Rogue Squadron games.

already tried out dx12 doesn't seem to offer any performance improvements for the rs games.

still have to downclock 70-80% and turn off idle skipping

3570k & 4810mq.

if you think it's faster in these games, must be a placebo.

I think we need know what's slow about the levels with solid ground. There's some fancy emboss/bump mapping stuff going on that Dolphin completely screws up rendering. On console it looks much better, but, I'm guessing whatever is being done to generate them is still being emulated and we're just screwing up the rendering, explaining the slowdown.

when i try d3d12 on rebel strike i always get flickering terrain / trees on the endor bunker mission. so far done it on every d3d12 build thus far.

What is your GPU again cause I dont have that problem?

I wonder if it is because the nvidia 700 series doesn't have the 12_0 feature set but only the 11_0 feature set? would need to have someone with better understanding to confirm if that could cause a problem.

I don't know about the 960m however it should have the 12_0 features I believe.

Maybe something in your settings is messed up from previous editing.

both support directx 12.

i wiped all the cache files but it still flickers on the endor bunker mission.

it's the only mission it does it on and i have no flickering issues on rogue leader with dx12.

Yes they have dx12 at feature level 11_0.

I haven't tried the endor level yet on dx12 strange that it would only happen on one level.
