I tried both gpu plugins D3D and OGL but the surfaces don't show up.
Are there particular settings to render the game properly?
The 1767 build mentioned page 18 worked fine when i tried it.

Not MMU, but fifo issues. The game used to crash when you paused or used the targeting computer.

Oh boy, this is exciting to see RS2 working now! It is pretty choppy at times (same as latest master), but seems everything is working now so you can see everything. This is some great work JMC47! Looking forward to a new one made that has the latest fixes implemented from -4889.
I did as BlizzardToaBreeze said and downloaded the pull request for 1767. Will be nice once we can pause and use the targeting computer properly. For reference, I am running an Intel Core i5 4690s Haswell (3.2ghz turbo 3.9) and Gigabyte Geforce GTX 970 Mini-ITX OC. Oh, also I am running LLE audio so I can hear everything and works just fine. I tried with HLE, but sound was garbled, and it didn't run any better than LLE.

Test away; this should be the final solution for everything. A true zfreeze implementation. Phire really outdid himself. Includes the fifo fix for the crashing when pausing/targeting computer. 01-03-2015, 06:25 AM

I have tested it with D3D and it pauses and unpauses fine, when I press the targeting computer button it brings up the garbled picture above but it doesn't crash. I also have to hold that button in to keep the targeting computer up, I can't remember if that was the behaviour of the game originally but It doesn't seem right to me.
At any rate, the targeting screen is static. Thanks to Neobrain, Phire and everyone involved!

Turn on EFB2RAM to fix the targeting screen guys. I think I've said that before, but if I haven't, let it be known. Needs safe texture cache too!

Works great! I am able to pause the game and view settings! Also, like Monyet said, I have to hold the button down for the targeting computer (don't remember that in the original game), but no issues like the garbled mess mentioned.
Thanks JMC47 & Phire, you guys have done a heck of a job here! I'm going to test RS3 now.

First: A very BIG Thanks to you and the other Engineers You got def. Skill !!! Will there be speed improvements (FPS) for the Game and is there a possibility of a fix for the sound so that it doesnt crack all the time? Does anybody know how to remove these dots in the sky when you are on planets for example Hoth? Hoth and Bespin are @me unplayable because of too heavy lag, could it be the fault of the Dual Core CPU (Core i3 3220€3,3GHz)? 01-03-2015, 09:09 AM
Fiora's working on more optimizations, but these are MMU titles; they're going to be hard. To even sniff full speed on some stages you need 4.0 GHz on a Haswell or better.
I recommend using medium texture cache if you have a strong computer and need a lot of performance back or turning off EFB2RAM if you absolutely need performance on a weaker computer and don't care about the targeting computer and other effects. |
