Thanks for explaining that it reverts to interpreter JMC47! I love understanding how the game works more.

Ok, I have a pretty solid hardware (gtx 970, 20 Go ram) except for the cpu.
With a i5 7640X (4 GHz) will this game run flawlessly, especially on planet missions?
And more generally, will other gamecube/Wii games be flawlessly emulated when possible?

4ghz+ seems to be the sweet spot for emulation. i've pretty much given up on emulation myself, as i don't have money to burn on latest hardware, as i mainly do pc gaming. i tend to buy most of my hardware 2nd hand and get mid range hardware so i can game 720-1080p, i'm not concerned with aa, vsync, 120hz, max details etc. i like a balance of fps and quality without spending too much, built all my machines on a budget and they do pc gaming just fine and there's not many games i wish to emulate so...

only stuff i still emulate is xp for old games and dosbox for ancient games.

Well... The Rogue Squadron games are the games that are the hardest to emulate at decent speeds (all Factor5 games apparently are) but with a computer this fast all the other games should not be a problem.
Check my profile for up to date specs.

I get fps drops even playing at native GC settings with my signature build. Certain locations are just too heavy. Game needs mega optimizations before it will be playable at a locked framerate on lesser hardware.

I haven't narrowed down where this happened yet but somewhere after rev 6428
leaving GPU Texture Decode enabled will cause Rouge Squadron II to crash on a fairly
regular basis.
