I have updated the texture pack for Rogue Leader, and the performance boost is amazing.

I've been trying to play this game on my Nvidia Shield for a while on one of the latest builds of Dolphin. But every time I load the game it just gets stuck at the intro credit screen before the main menu.
Is this a common issue? 07-25-2017, 07:49 AM

Well, I didn't really notice any difference, still stutters... so I assume that I didn't really have stutter issues from shader compilation and that they are related to something else. On my 4770 at stock I tried 2xAA and 3xIR and got 100% speed with dips in a few spots and usually during scene changes it would stutter, affecting the audio mostly rather than pausing the video. Your mileage may vary.

Monyet - that's slowdown, not shader compilation stuttering.

Oh cool, thanks for letting me know. Does that mean ubershaders doesn't really have any affect on Rogue Squadron 2?

No... it means your computer is too slow so the game is unable to maintain it's proper framerate, resulting in slowdown and audio garbles. This has nothing to do with shader compilation stuttering which ubershaders fixes.
Rogue Squadron benefitted quite a lot from ubershaders. AMD Threadripper Pro 5975WX PBO+200 | Asrock WRX80 Creator | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 FE | 64GB DDR4-3600 Octo-Channel | Windows 11 23H1 | (details)

To be a bit more precise, the game is falling back to interpreter during certain actions due to it being an MMU game.
We'd need to improve the JIT more or optimize those instructions in the interpreter to fix those slowdowns. 08-02-2017, 11:56 AM
Awesome, Well thanks for all the info on it and for everyone's continued hard work. I'm sure it will all be rock solid in every way some day, and I am enjoying the journey.
