This is a matter of opinion; are you playing the Wii through composite video only (i.e. the yellow cable)?  I've obtained the game for the Wii and it plays back razor sharp on my 32" CRT through component video (i.e. the green, blue, and red cables).  Connecting it to my 80" HDTV via component looks decent as well, although obviously not as sharp due to the fact that it has to upscale the 480p rendered image to 1080p.  That said, I definitely wouldn't go so far as to call the picture "blurry" or "not very clear".

As General_Han_Solo stated, I'm not sure how you're playing a GameCube game on a Wii U as those consoles don't accept Gamecube game discs.  Even if you've installed the 'Nintendont' homebrew Gamecube loader program on your Wii U and are loading games off an SD or HDD, the HDMI connection won't be much sharper than component as the games are still being rendered at 480p.  As far as I know, the only way to get a higher rendered version of the game is through emulation.

At any rate, you should check out this video as it features a lot of Gamecube comparison videos between composite, s-video, component and HDMI.  Jump ahead to the 20:29 mark if you want to see the discussion and results for the Wii U. You'll find the 480p picture quality between component and HDMI connections to be fairly similar. Yes, the HDMI has a slight advantage, but keep in mind those comparison videos are zoomed in to magnify any shortcomings. When playing the actual games, it would be very difficult to spot any real difference.

Cheers,
Visor

fine don't believe me, but it's definently clearer on the wii u via nintendont. i've played it on all the cables on the old wii, scart, component, the wii hdmi upscalers (which don't do anything, didn't notice any improvement, waste of money) found the picture quality not very clear and that's on 32" hdtv, ground missions were alright i guess, but space was just horrible.

it's even better when you set nintendont to the wii u widescreen option as it fits the screen better.

you probably won't believe me when i tell you it runs smoother than on the wii due to the better specs, just play hoth and any other of the intensive missions and see the difference in fps (obviously no counter but it feels smoother)

for me the wii u is the best of the 3 consoles to play the two rs games on.

While nintendont may render games at 480 the Wii U console is still upscaling the games to 1080 so yes the games technically do "look" better on the Wii U just like it would "look" better when switching from composite cables to component.

And I'll need to test soul Calibur han.  I also haven't touched RS since the performance drop I'm getting a 7700k on Monday and was gonna see how far I can push it for RS Tongue

So the higher the build the higher your specs must be ??? something is just going wrong here.

In the next 5 years this game might run great on a i9 6800UK and Nvidia GTX3920 on dolphin 7.0 (o wait the specs must then be higher again).

The game still runs shit, like my old laptop even this one has frame drops Rolleyes

The higher the build the more accurate Dolphin gets which translates to needing higher specs... Go download Higan (BSNES) Accurate version and see how much more it requires from your computer than any other SNES emulator. OR better yet get the angry lion plugin for any N64 emulator and watch no games run at speed lol.

Specifically, what is "accuracy"? Does it entail minor graphical effects that at first went unnoticed, but now makes the game more authentic (albeit, at a higher resolution)?

Accuracy means the emulator performs exactly like the original system. This can show up in graphical effects (Targeting computer) or be something completely unseen like when they fixed the way dolphin handled memory addresses (Majoras Mask on Virtual Console finally boots).

Hello, is there a way to modify the Widescreen code for PAL/EU Version ?

Oh and BTW while I got the Emulator just right for the first 2 Levels....almost no drops but it is terribly slow at hoth, and now everywhere with the same settings o0.
Does Dolphin "save" things rendeded once and builds up a pile ?

wrong thread for the code

And you would be referring to shader cache. I dont know why you would be getting slowdown on previously fine areas outside of hardware issues.

Hi all,

So it's been a while since I've run this, and I just tried firing it up on 5.0-4063 and I'm just getting a black screen, the original loading messages don't leave screen and nothing loads. Options tried are all audio backends, all graphics backends including software. I have tried with custom textures on and off and every result is the same. Custom textures won't load either, and I have them in the correctly labelled sub directory.

I know this because I have run 5.0-3570 and the game loads and loads the custom textures. I have tried starting as an administrator. I have turned the pc off and on again. I have the latest nvidia drivers and I'm running Windows 10. ANyone else having issues or know why I might be having them?

Thanks.

Update: So I copied the same build to another computer and ran it and had the same issue so I downloaded the latest revision and it seems to be fine so maybe just a corrupted install of some kind.
