I wonder is if there is some idea on what causes the red/green shadows and what could be a solution... How could I try and collect data from the game on it, or something like that?

You can run Dolphin in debugging mode (launch from the commandline with the -d argument). I suppose you would have to look at the instructions the CPU communicates to the GPU, then find out what Dolphin is doing as compared to what you expect. I think someone like delroth or neobrain should know enough about the graphics core to point you in the right direction.
So far, I haven't found any settings that fix the red/green shadows (but then again, I haven't tried everything either). I'm currently playing this game right now from start to finish, so I'll be sure to update this thread if I come across any surprising. 11-14-2012, 05:51 AM
Holy ****!
I read that the newer version of Dolphin has fixed the music in this game with HLE. I can't wait to try it but now I'm not on my computer. Does it really work now? 11-14-2012, 05:59 AM
Yeah, all music notes play now, but sound in LLE is still better.
Based on my brief testing some notes play longer then they should in HLE and there is no proper volume changes with different instruments. 11-14-2012, 06:42 AM
Wow, delroth. You made my day, no seriously you did.
In my testing, it takes a very dedicated ear to hear any major differences. Minor differences are negligible imo in terms of making the game enjoyable. Tested Shrine Island and the New Game intro. In the intro, some notes play louder than they do with LLE, but if you ask me, it adds more drama to the scene, so it's not really a big deal :p Voices after battles are definitely louder, but I can deal. Pirate Island "pops" every now and then, but that's not a problem either. After battle music may have a slight echo, I'm not sure atm (something to do with reverb?). All in all though, HLE is very much acceptable for this game now. 11-14-2012, 06:47 AM
Wait what? SoA works with HLE now? damnit Lectrode needs to hurry and update his builds
11-14-2012, 06:55 AM
Lectrode seems to have no time to update his builds. But you could try Vlad's ICC builds if you want to

Haha, actually, you don't need an ICC build Just overclock your CPU to 4.5GHz and you'll have a great performance!
