Okay, I'll check it out sometime tonight or tomorrow night.

I played through this whole game (I use the EU version) on dolphin 4.0-4127, and apart from a couple tiny things (the odd sound issue, though they could have been on the actual console too), the game ran great. Almost no moments of slowdown through the whole 50+ hours, was very happy. Since then I downloaded a more recent build, and went back to do a couple of the endgame quests, but came across a problem. I don't know if this is isolated to my computer or not.
I went back through the dolphin builds, and found the problem started in 4.0-4219, as 4217 runs fine. I've tried the newest version as of this time (4.0-4669 x64) and while the problem seems to happen less often on the first load, it is still there. If using OpenGL (can't make the issue happen in direct3D), the game will sometimes get stuck (and sometimes crash) in various situations. The audio will play, but with a skip every quarter second or so, while the picture just stays either black, or stuck on whatever it was showing when this kicks in. At the same time the FPS counter drops from its normal stable 25 down to ~8. It happens most often after clicking a save from the main menu when it tries loading an area, but can happen anytime, including in fights, walking and flying around, during cutscenes and the intro cinematic before the title screen. I've found you can sometimes get the game running normally again by minimising and reopening the window (though the problem happens in fullscreen and windowed mode), but the issue can come back again at any time. I have various saves throughout the game (as in 10 hours in, 20 hours, so on) and it happens at all points. You might say 'well just play it on direct3D', but i thought people might want to know this was happening, since it ran fine before on OpenGL . 12-18-2014, 03:51 PM
It's likely some kind of lag causing a dualcore desync and crashing the game.

Thank you for replying, seems you are right on that one. I disabled the dualcore option in the properties and it appears to be running fine now.
Is that just a case of my CPU not being fast enough (though the other games I tried didn't seem negatively affected by the update)? That one update that started it says it implemented bounding box support with ssbo, is that something that required more resources? 12-19-2014, 09:41 AM
There are certain games that are very sensitive to the dualcore option. If you're always running full speed, the game won't really care, and everything will run fine. If you drop frames, and the CPU or GPU thread get out of sync, bad things can happen.

As of the latest master I get full speed with no slowdowns in single core mode. Before i could barely maintain 30fps with significant drops when flying around in the world area and certain cpu intensive cut scenes like the part in the intro showing alfonso and his crew inside the ship. Now i can fast forward the cut scenes and the slow pace battles without having to worry about random freezing.

Hiix i'm having some moderate texture issues with skies of arcadia legends. All the menus are screwed up and fairly unreadable, but i can fix it easily by changing any of the following settings:
Graphics > Enhancements: Ticking or unticking Scaled EFB Copy Graphics > Hacks: Moving the texture cache slider. That makes everyhing work perfectly, but it goes back to a broken state at the end of every battle (battles are VERY common) I can repeatedly fix it by just changing those settings again, but it gets very tedious. Does anyone have a more permanant idea? I'm using dolphin 4.0-1430 I've tried three other versions including 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5962 All of those others crashed on the start screen and were thus unplayable. But 4.0-1430 seems to be working perfecly aside from this texture issue Is there another specific version that's known/likely to not have issues? 04-05-2015, 07:41 PM
Try using a new build with single core instead of dualcore and see if that helps.

Hope nobody minds me quoting an old post, but does anyone still see this glitch in OpenGL? Works fine in Direct3D though. EFB to Texture doesn't fix it. Dolphin 4.0-5921 GeForce GTX 780 3 GB |
