Resident Evil: CODE Veronica X High-Res UI Textures

This pack is very basic, just did the UI.
I still have to fix some things in various textures.

Note
The textures are enhanced to run in 16:9!

I'm not done yet, because now i'm trying to extract the textures from the HD version of the PS3, and so far I could not extract anything, I searched on various websites romhacking PS3 and i found some .arc extractors most all of them were to other specific PS3 games.. Anyway i'll post some files of the PS3 version, and if someone could extract some texture would be a big step and it would be great too of course.

Understandable, OP doesn't have a high enough post count to make a new thread here, so the procedure generally is to post it somewhere like General Discussion so we can move it. No worries Wink

Good luck on this project FanBoy, there are a lot of RE fans here.

I can't help but notice that Chris's face looks weird on the hi-res screen shot. Smile

Looks like it's just a squeezed version of the other one, you can likely rectify the oddness by unsqueezing it to realign with the original. You'll lose some resolution, but hopefully no so much that it's no longer an upgrade. Though perhaps it's the GC one that's stretched. Is this game supposed to run 16:9, cause the original Capcom logo and GameCube Controller posted also look stretched? Most GC games have questionable support for such. You'll need to do lots of stretching/squeezing to make things look right if it it doesn't.

I do not understand Kolano, you want me to stretch the image to align with the GC version is 4:3? I do not see why doing that, already in 16:9 seems to be more appropriate in view that nowadays everyone has a widescreen tv monitor.

Image Scaling/Interpolating does not make Images HD or better quality.

Right, the GC version is 4:3, so if you are replacing it's textures I'd think they should also be 4:3 (or you should at least provide some notice that they are appropriate for a 16:9 stretched display). Really I'm just saying the GC original ones look odd, because they are stretched to 16:9, it's up to you how you want to handle the 4:3/16:9 stretching in your textures. Just keep in mind that your pack may look odd to folks running it in 4:3, as I think the game was intended to be played.

Sure it does, generally it can increases quality as long as your down-sampling the image (i.e. scaling to smaller dimensions). My expectation however was that there would be some quality loss aligning with the original GC textures better.

I have done Texturing for quite some time on various PC Games, I have found
people that Extract entire Textures of a game, Image-Scale it with Photoshop,
then convince people its an "HD Texture Pack"..

Image Scaling/Interpolation also blurs/skews out the fine details of the in-game Art.

Only an proper artist can make true High-Res Textures.

The font used in Code Veronice as that old Typewriter look, which i dont see as much in the high res screens
