I think it may have the same problems, at any rate the GC version is going to look better

You would think so, but since I can filter the backgrounds in Project 64, the N64 version looks better IMO. However, if you have suggested settings for Resident Evil 2 in Dolphin, I'd love to try them.

Hi everyone-
my english isnt very good but i try hard to be understandable.

I have RE2 for gamecube.
When i try to emulate it on the dolphin 2.0 it runs smoothly but of course with sound-skippin'.
The problem is already known and discussed in several topics. To solce that problem I should use doplhin 3.644.

Now the problem is, when I try run R2 on 3.644 i have a different problem, even though RE1 runs very smoothly.
The problem is, that in different parts in the game (i guess its randomly) the fps and as well the vps declines and recovers after 5-10 seconds and runs again very smoothly. But this is repeating alot and I dont know how I can solve this.

Please help me.

With kind regards,
pin0

The versions of Dolphin you're using are antiquities. Try to use something more recent

I hadn't seen you were on a laptop. You should make sure you aren't overheating. Such speed drops are typical of this kind of issue

I have to measure this- but why runs re1_remake better then re2?
Yeah I am sitting in front of an alienware notebook. It should be really fast- i can play for instance max payne 3 on high performance (but not on max. of course).

But thanks for the hint, i will try to figure something else out!

RE2 is more demanding than RE1.

Also Dolphin is CPU dependent while PC games are GPU dependent. Your CPU might not be powerful enough for some demanding games.

Moreover recent versions of Dolphin are much more demanding than old versions
