I'm new to Dolphin. I recently got back into playing the older Pokemon Stadium games, and it's made me wanna try out Colosseum and XD for Gamecube.
I know about setting it up and everything. This is about connectivity to VBA-M.
Has anyone ever managed to connect VBA-M with Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/LeafGreen/FireRed into the Pokemon Box, Colosseum, or XD games with Dolphin?
I have been trying this all afternoon. So far I've only been testing with Pokemon Box, because it is the smallest of the three, and was easy for me to acquire. (Dialup. Enough said.)
I tried the Connectivity Guide, with a few alterations.
1) I turned off the GBA Bios part, because it wasn't doing anything for the connection.
I have tried this in both the HLE and LLE DSP, the only difference I have seen is that LLE makes a lot of static noise, while HLE runs the sound perfectly.
I start Dolphin, run the Box, go to Pokemon Box in the game, and it says to hook up the GBA.
Next I start VBA-M, make sure the Joybus IP is correct, then run one of the Gameboy games.
VBA-M immediately slows way down, but once the rom gets near the intro video, the confirming connection message appears in Dolphin.
This is as far as I have ever gotten. It just runs in an endless loop.
The only time this is different is when certain things happen.
1) If my dialup was connected, and disconnects, the message in Dolphin switches to remark about the GBA being disconnected, almost immediately.
2) If I close the game in VBA-M, or shut it off, Dolphin locks up.
So I registered here to see if anyone has managed to make this work, or if it's something that is not fully functional at this time.
