I don't like YouTube vids for explaining stuff, that gives head-aches. I found it out though. Looks like the new version reset the per-rom configs. I had to disable dual-core on the pkmn-xd rom to get it working again. Still graphic errors with shadow auras but that's just ugly but not game-breaking.

I wondering if anyone else knows or has heard of a problem where the game says there's no save file, and cannot save. It then asks me if I want to continue without saving, and when I say yes, it returns to the same beginning screen.

Hey, getting a problem with this which I have found multiple threads about but I haven't found a solution. It was apparently fixed from what I understood, it still crashes for me. It's the problem with dual-core where the GPU would get desynced and the game would hang, the music playing the same ~3 second loop over and over again. I tried disabling dual-core however the game runs super slowly with that.

I found that there's an option in the ROM called "Synchronize GPU thread" which seems like the thing that would fix it, however, when I select that the game crashes before even getting to the Health&Safety screen. A black screen with the yellow text for settings/specs and such comes up and just freezes there, I have in some cases been able to get it to work by pressing Escape and getting it to stop the emulation but most of the time I just have to force quit it. Have tried it on both DX9, DX11 and OpenGL.

Otherwise the game runs fine apart from some small VFX glitches, especially with shadow pokemon, like some others have pointed out but I can live with that Smile

Single Core is probably needed; but you can also try the dualcore netplay branch to see if it helps: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/list/dc-netplay/1/

Thanks for replying, unfortunately the netplay branch did not work, the error instead popped up after a few seconds of launching the ROM. Single core causes so much stutter and lag(audio and video) so that it's pretty much unplayable for me, I guess I'll just have to save state often. It's a little annoying because sometimes when I load a save state the sound is simply a loud buzz, so I have to restart a few times until it works, but if there's no other fix then I'll live with that.

Your problem is the dreadful AMD FX lineup of CPUs. Probably on most higher in i5s and i7s (and even the new i3s) this game wouldn't be much trouble at all. But AMD FX chips are so fucking slow, that there's really not much I can do to help you. They fall into that range of CPUs that can suffer the GPU/CPU desync due to being right on the edge of full speed in certain games.

AMD Processors are not the right choice for anything gaming right now, and even rarely out perform intel in tasks they are supposed to specialize in.
