You Windows 7 key entitles you to use the x64 edition as well. Simply update your installation to x64, and then you can use the latest Dolphin versions.

Yes, but the processor comes in play too, and my processor isn't for x64, it's x86. That's why I can't upgrade/install x64
"amd athlon 64 x2" is a 64 bit processor. In fact, it is compatible with 32 bit instructions as well. This is why you think it's a 32 bit. Because it works with your 32 bit OS.
Rest assured, you can actually install a 64 bit OS and unlock some raw, hidden power that your current 32 bit OS is limiting. ![]() BTW, is the original gamecube game runs at 60FPS? If its a 30FPS game, you may want to reduce the framerate by enabling v-sync and get a steady framerate instead. 08-30-2015, 04:30 PM
I tried installing 64 bits once, but couldn't. In msinfo32 it also says that it's a system based in x86. Since I tried and the pc said that I couldn't, that's why I say I can't install 64 bits.
I don't have problems with the game, it's just the sound. The only way I'm going to be able to have good sound is if I manage to get the game to 60fps? And there aren't any older version that manage to do that? Since I won't be able to try a new version because of my pc

Really, I would highly advise you to do anything you can to get a 64-bit computer; they're so much more useful than any 32-bit computer. And yes, you can only have good sound if you are able to run the game at full speed. If you were running a higher version of Dolphin, you would be able to try underclocking the GameCube's CPU, but that option was only added to later development revisions. Really, you're screwing yourself over with a 32-bit computer.

Well, if I could I would buy a better pc T_T
The recent versions are only going to be for x64? Isn't there a chance that at some point a new release can be used in a x86 computer? Or that only happens in stable versions? Or it doesn't matter if a new version is released for 32 bits, because my pc won't reach full speed, no matter what I do?
msinfo32.exe will give you details about the windows version that it is installed on your computer. It will give you the CPU model, its clock, but it won't inform much more.
Clearly the amd x2 is a 64 bit processor. It's not even the first 64 bit AMD CPU that come up. You definitely can install a 64 bit OS and run it. You don't need a special motherboard or other special hardware. Just insert a windows 64 disc on your dvd drive and install it. I am not sure if you can do it with your actual license, though. If you bought your windows license on a store i am sure you can, but if it is a OEM PC with a pre installed OS, you may have to stick with whatever windows version is installed on your PC. I am sure you can contact support from your PC manufacturer or Microsoft and ask them about it. Also, even if you bought a windows license, you can only upgrade to a 64 version of the correspondent 32 bit version. So, if you have windows 7 home 32 bit version, you can install the windows home 64 bit version, but not the professional or ultimate one and so on. If you do not have the DVD anymore, you can make your own iso by downloading it at the microsoft website. It's not even illegal to download it anywhere else on the Internet, as long as you have the license for it. You may check your bios before installing it. I don't know, maybe some weird OEM Bios will lock your CPU to a 32 bit only architecture, if it is ever possible (i think it isn't). |
