Well thats embarassing haha. It seems it is caused by Ishiiruka. I didn't even think of that being the problem as so far all of the games I have tried run better with it and I hadn't ever really had a glitch like that. Thanks!

I'm having an issue with Pikmin 2 on Dolphin 5.0-11673 where getting to Glutton's Kitchen on Sublevel 6, it randomly "freezes" (aka my emulator and my entire computer freezes for 10 seconds, after which only the audio unfreezes while the image is frozen until I exit and reload the emulation, so it's still running and I can control it, but I am unable to see what I'm doing) in a few instances. I've enabled and disabled various settings, slowed down the emulation's speed, and I have always played it in Native resolution (640x528). I've had Enable MMU on for the entire game (which fixed all of the other freezing problems Pikmin and Pikmin 2 have, like the wiki says, but doesn't seem to work for this one specific area). I've reloaded a savestate multiple times to try and figure out why this was happening, and the causes I have so far are: -immediately locking the camera behind the group by pressing L as soon as I gain control after the falling cutscene. -tossing yellow pikmin onto the electric barriers. -letting the pikmin drag the Sweet Dreamer (and breadbug) to the research pod, and freezes on the screen where you can rotate it and shows its value. -trying to defeat a breadbug, anode beetle, or the giant breadbug by throwing pikmin onto it. -at random points not listed above. I tried to record this with Win+G but the freeze effects my whole computer, so I don't have a way to show video of this happening. I just made an account today because I'm really fed up with it, and I don't want to waste any more time fiddling with settings to see if the game will work only for the same thing to happen over and over. And since I'm very new here I don't know where else to ask for help on this, so if this is the wrong place to ask please direct me to somewhere where someone can help. 02-22-2020, 06:33 AM
You're using the latest dolphin version from here, right? https://dolphin-emu.org/download/list/master/1/
Using the latest version, try right clicking the game in your game list on the main dolphin window, hit properties, then go to the verify tab and try and verify it with all the checks. Dolphin will tell you if it's a good or bad dump. If it's a bad dump you'll have to redump your copy of the game. If you have a good dump, the next thing to try would be to create a blank text file called "portable.txt" next to your dolphin .exe, that will make dolphin ignore all your configuration. If the game doesn't crash after that it means something in your configuration is messed up, and you should probably copy your saves out of your /Documents/Dolphin Emulator/ folder and delete the rest of it. I'd also try updating your graphics driver, or try disabling dual core, because dual core causes all kinds of problems. 02-23-2020, 10:52 AM

The problems found are here: what should I do to get a good dump/maybe convert it into a good dump? and if I get a good dump will my save file be unusable for it? 09-17-2020, 08:08 AM
Hi pals, sorry if this is the wrong spot, but I'm trying to figure out how to get the Colossal Caverns hack by Pikhacker to run on my Android phone. I know it needs the resized RAM, which the Android build doesn't allow for in the GUI, but the post on the Dolphin blog leads me to believe that's a value that at least was alterable in the code of the PC version of Dolphin and, therefore, maybe something accomplishable on Android? If anyone has any thoughts, I'm very grateful to hear them.

I'm not expecting help but here I go anyway I guess.
I'm using 5.0-14855. (I know that there's a newer one out, but there's a newer version out everyday. So unless it specifically says "also fixed Pikmin 2" I'm not bothering.) Pikmin 2 still freezes whenever I try to "save." This wouldn't be a problem because save states exist but the game tries auto-saving every time you jump into a cave. I've seen a few solutions and I've tried these. -Use LLE. The problem with that is I can't use a save state if I were to do that, and I've been relying on them for a while. -Enable MMU. Didn't work. -Disable Dual Core. Didn't work. -I even tried disabling the memory card so it'd say something like "can't save. Continue anyway?" but again that does not work. I've been looking for solutions to this problem and I've been seeing people complaining about this 7 years ago. How has this not been fixed yet? 08-13-2021, 10:21 PM
Does the problem still happen if you play without using savestates at all?

first of all the game repeatedly freezes adn this can only be solved by closing dolphin and starting it again or speeding up the game before the freezes, and when i close pikmin 2 without fully closing dolphin and start it again it says "cant create a Open gl rendering context" and after i press o on that "failed to iniatize video backend!", and also when i am able to play it after the freezes dont happen i see glitchy textures in the purple pikmin flower room (pictures bwlow). here are the locations of the freezes i've identified : at the start of 1st cave last floor, when the first purple pikmin mpops out the flower, and when the purple pikmin introductory cutscene plays.
