Thanks for the tip on the kana input.

For Esc, go to Dolphin's Hotkey Settings found under the Options menu and select a different hotkey for the Stop command.  The Esc key will then work as expected in PSO.

One last note on the [ ] bug: Go to the game properties for PSO by right clicking on the PSO icon in the game list and select Properties.  Click Show Defaults.  Edit these two lines in the file

From:
Code:
[Video_Settings]
SafeTextureCacheColorSamples = 512

To:
Code:
[Video_Settings]
SafeTextureCacheColorSamples = 0

Save the file and close it.  Click Edit Config and edit the same two lines if they are there. This is the equivalent of setting the Texture Accuracy to Safe in the Graphics settings of Dolphin.

The [ ] brackets should not be disappearing after that.

Thanks for that. The Esc key now works as expected, and the invisible text is gone, although I don't quite understand why, since I'm using EFB2Texture and not EFB2RAM.

I use EFB2RAM with the cache disabled (which I assume is about as safe as moving the cache slider to the "Safe" position) in 4.0.2 to make the text visible, but I've found in the development builds that EFB2Texture works just as well as EFB2RAM now, so there doesn't seem to be any reason to avoid EFB2Texture anymore. Since the cache is only for EFB2RAM, I don't know why that setting works (especially since using EFB2RAM + Safe Cache didn't fix the invisible text problem when I set it from the graphical options menu). My invisible lowercase "j" problem is also gone now, though, so I'm a happy camper. Smile

Hmm... I've run into another problem. I can't seem to save my network settings to the memory card correctly. I set up the network options using static IP yesterday, was able to go online, and logged off successfully, but when I tried to go online today, PSO said that the network configuration in memory card A was invalid and had to be deleted on the memory card screen.

I removed the network file from the GCI folder, set up the network again, and saved it to the memory card, but when I try to exit Dolphin after I get back to the title screen, I get a "Stack overflow!" message box, and Dolphin crashes. This happens on 4.0-5762, and it also happens on 4.0-2221, so I guess it isn't a recently introduced problem. Is there a known way to get the settings to save successfully? The settings must be OK in RAM since I was able to go online yesterday, but for some reason Dolphin can't write the save file correctly, I guess.

*edit*

Interestingly, if I close Dolphin on the browser screen instead of returning to the game and closing Dolphin on the title screen, I don't get the stack overflow error. Dolphin just crashes immediately, instead.

*edit 2*

I figured out the more important of the two problems. It isn't that Dolphin can't save the network settings correctly; it's that PSO is not fully compatible with GCI folders. My guess is that the timestamp forging thing to make PSO saves valid only runs when you use a memory card image, because if I use a GCI folder, PSO always says the network settings are invalid. I fixed it by importing my saves back into a .RAW memory card and then setting up the BBA again. Now I no longer get the error, so I guess I just won't use GCI folders.

The crashing problem isn't fixed, but that's not as important, since it only happens when I load the browser (which isn't necessary anymore, now that the network settings are usable). I can't tell if it's a Windows 7 problem or a driver problem: Dolphin 4.0-1 x86 exits cleanly on my XP laptop (ATI GPU), but it crashes when exiting on my 7 desktop (nVidia GPU). Since it's not a factor in daily usage, I'll leave things as they are now.

Sure, configure the PS3 joystick as normal for a GC controller in Port 1. Plug in a virtual GC keyboard in Port 2 by using Dolphin's dropdown option. You could reconfigure the keys of the GC keyboard to the PC's keyboard, but that's unnecessary. Press the Default button to map the layout to keyboard and play.

Hello Everyone,

I want to know if anyone else is having their controller start to go out of control. I been trying to fight Dark Falz in ultimate difficulty but as soon as
i enter the portal to Dark Falz the controller start moving on its own. This has happened to me twice already had to leave ruins with out beating
Dark Falz. I have to revert to using dolphine-4.0-5710 so i can fight Dark Falz.

I think it may have something to do with one of these 2 commits.

Please bisect to the exact build that breaks it for you then make an issue report.
