I thought I should mention that PR#6118 seems to have broken AF in PSO as of 5.0-5745. The game becomes super blurry in this revision, but it looks normal in 5.0-5743. The game is still blurry in 5.0-5824, so it seems the improved mipmap dection added in 5.0-5798 didn't help.

Is there a way for Dolphin to recognize imported gci files of downloadable quests?
The quests directly downloaded from private servers into my memory card work just fine. But when i try to import or copy quest files from other memory cards or other sources like a website, the quests don't seem to show up in game. I assume its because they are bound to either a guild card file, network file or character file they originally came from? Is there a way to bypass this? Or rebound them to my information? (checksum fix doesn't do much.) Mainly because its for the ultra rare Episode III quests i found somewhere online via a website which are not available for download on any private server i have found so far. Its about the 'Future Bullet' and 'Future Forecast' quests. But this problem also applies to PSO I & II. 01-04-2018, 09:47 AM
Not sure if this will work, but might be worth giving it a try:
Download the quests into your memory card connected to your Wii. Use the homebrew gcmm to make an image (whole raw image, not just the gci files) of your memory card. Copy the memory card image to Dolphin and try loading the quests from there. 01-04-2018, 06:50 PM

I play the PAL version of PSO, while the GCI files are NTSC. Converted them to PAL but then the next problem raised. While the PSO III quests were easily imported without any problems. (Tested the quests as well and they work perfectly fine.) But when i tried to import the converted PSO I&II quests, Dolphin gives me this error: Memcard already has a save for this title. Any workaround for this? Nevermind that problem, no idea what I did but got it to work. 01-05-2018, 02:27 PM
Quests are encrypted using the creation time of the PSO system file as a seed, so you can only decrypt them when you have the original system file.

Tested with a (linux) Dolphin build I did today (May 16 2018), PSO's textures are blurry as hell even at 3x resolution when seen at any oblique angle. Anisotropic Filtering doesn't help at all. I couldn't find record of a filed report on Dolphin's bug tracker for this issue so I made one. 05-19-2018, 05:02 AM

Hello again, are GCI files (folder) compatible with Phantasy Star Online nowadays ? I remember a (long) while ago having issues like corruption so I always used full Memorycard files thereafter.
Edit: There seems to be special code for PSO in the memorycard-handling sourcecode found in Dolphin, does it make GCI file format safe to use for PSO saves? https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/s...q=pso&type= 06-16-2018, 02:11 PM
Last I checked, GCI folders don't work. When you try to go online, the game will say that your network settings are corrupt, and you need to delete them and start over. No matter how many times you delete the network settings and recreate them, the error always appears, so you have to go back to using a memory card image file. The problem could be fixed by now, but I don't know.

New Dolphin user here. Like a previous poster, I'm having problems loading the Forest 1 level on PSO I. I've never been able to get past the loading screen. Depending on the Dolphin version, it either hangs with a buzzing sound (from the sound repeating) or it pops up with an error "Invalid read from 0x10000006, PC = 0x803d45ec". Interestingly, PSO II works with no issues so far (1-2 hours in).
Things I've tried: - every stable version from 3.0 to 5.0 - the version mentioned by the last person in this thread with a similar problem, 4.0-8863 - the latest development version, 5.0-8221 - checked the md5sum, which matches what has been given by others in this thread 478BF75C63D6FF30315C9B34CEE288AB (1.0) Being new to Dolphin I don't have much idea of how to troubleshoot. Any advice would be appreciated. 06-26-2018, 09:55 AM
Apologies, I thought my previous post would show my system details.
i5 4430 - 750 Ti - Crucial Ballistix 2x8 GB - win 7 x64 I should have the latest drivers for the graphics card as of about two weeks ago. Seeing as almost everyone here has been able to make PSO work with most versions of Dolphin, and because I have a valid .iso for the game, the problem must lie with how I have Dolphin configured (or possibly how I have my computer configured). I thought I would mention that I also tried a few versions of x86 Dolphin (don't remember which ones) and I also tried DirectX graphics as opposed to OpenGL, none of which worked. The rest of the configuration settings in Dolphin are pretty much greek to me, so again, any advice or ideas on other things to try would be appreciated. |
