I did a search but could only find easter eggs and tricks, no proper cheat or memory modification codes.
Computer specifications:

Hi guys,

I have a small problem with Paper Mario : TTD. The game runs extremely smoothly, 60 FPS all the time, even with some enhancements, the only problem is when there's a "paper effect", like at the beginning of the game when the boat flips, or when Mario enters a pipe. The FPS drops to 10-15 FPS.

The problem in action
My configs

My Specs:

Intel Core i7 4790K 4.0ghz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
32 GB RAM
Windows 7 64bits

Thank you very much!

What graphics card are you using? Try switching the backend to Direct3D, that's what fixed the issue for me on a GTX 970. If that doesn't fix it, try using this version of Dolphin that is recommended in the Wiki.

Edit: I see you said you are using a GTX 970 as well, so using Direct3D should fix your issue. BTW if you want the game to look even better you could use custom textures here and the wide screen AR codes listed on the wiki instead of the widescreen hack.

Thanks a lot! It worked! The Wiki suggests to use OpenGL and for some reason I didn't think of trying Direct3D! Thanks again! Big Grin

Thanks for the texture pack, I'll try it! Smile And for the Widescreen, I tried the AR codes but for some reason it makes everything squished. Not sure if it's me doing something wrong (I know the widescreen hack wasn't activated at the same time.) Maybe something to do with OpenGL? I'll try it again.

Hi there, I'm new to Dolphin.

I am having a problem with Thousand Year Door in general FPS. Inside buildings and smaller areas (Any building, Petal Meadows, Boggly Woods, Rogueport Sewers, etc), I have consistent 60 FPS. However in larger areas such as any of the other areas of Rogueport, or more compact places like the Glitz Pit Spectator area, I run at 30 FPS give or take. The game still is smooth, but Mario walks really slowly while the animation seems to run normally. Does anyone have an idea to fix or improve these conditions? Thanks in advance

Edit: I think it might be my computer. I just barely hit level 10 and got the upgraded stage, and now fights are around the 30 FPS marker and fights have become significantly slower. I had no problems with fighting before the upgraded stage. Is my computer not well-equipped enough to run this game?

OS: Windows 8 64 bit
CPU: Intel Core i5-3230M @ 2.60 GHz
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000
RAM: 4.00 GB

I think the recommended requirement is a minimum 3.2GHZ CPU for a lot of games.

Paper Mario actually needs a good graphic card because it uses a feature that is demanding from the cpu if the gpu doesn't support it and i don't think his intel gpu does. Try disabling bounding box emulation in the graphic options - hack tab, you will have graphic issues ingame though.

Dang that's a shame to see my laptop to be weak. This laptop was really nice when I got it, but of course that was 4-5 years ago XD I've been thinking about investing towards a new laptop anyway.

@Link_To_The_Past: I am currently using Dolphin 4.0-3610 and disabling Bounding Box isn't an option. I know 3610 isn't the most up-to-date emulator but it was recommended here somewhere from this forum since I cannot get this game to work on the most recent one at the time (Dolphin 4.0-8501). 3610 doesn't have a bounding box option. I'll try downloading the newest version to see if it will start up and will disable Bounding Box to see if it makes any difference.

Thank you Franpa and Link_To_The_Past for the timely replies. I really appreciate it.

So like you said, bounding box is the main issue behind it. The same thing happened to me but I just closed the emulator and opened it again and it worked with no problem. If you are struggling even with the Bounding Box you should try it once more. If it doesn't work close and reopen and try it again. If it doesn't work, change the option and try it a few times. I've made two games on mine so far and they both were fixed by just restarting the emulator. Hope it works for you as well.
