It did not crash in OpenGL via the backend, I'll just switch back to Direct3D after I save.

Thanks for now!

You also inadvertently helped me, too: I gave up on tinkering with the settings and try to find the fix on my own, but Direct3D prevent my crashing before the actual game even begins.

I was playing normally and it said "Executable memory ended up above 2GB!" I was in the tree part of the game, and running a development version of Dolphin. Help?

I'm having an issue where every time there is a "paper-related" cut-scene (i.e. the screen peels away to reveal something), the game freezes before it happens. The audio continues playing and if there are other objects on the screen, those will continue to move (i.e. NPCs that walk around slightly).

I'm running on 4.0-5051-x64. The first place I got stuck was the gate in front of Frankly's house. To get past this, I ran the game on 4.0-707-x86 (which caused the game to overall run slower, but the cut-scene with the gate worked).

I would just continue playing on 4.0-707, but then every time I enter a pipe, the game crashes. So I saved in-game and switched back to 5051. Now I'm at the part in the underground where you hit the blue switch to reveal stairs that lead up to the room with the first black chest. Once I hit the switch, the camera scrolls over to the wall that should "peel" away, but it freezes there.

Anybody have suggestions? I can't do save-states in one Dolphin iteration and open them in a different one Sad

Try build 4.0-4434 or slightly earlier? The game should also work with the stable version 4.0.2, the paper animations won't appear correctly but they'll still play/not impede progress.

I'm getting severe lags while battling Cortez, usually speed drops to 60%. I'm pretty sure that the boss model is made of large amounts of polygons and sprites, with complex animation is what caused the speed to drop on his first and second forms (with hands, weapons and bone pile). Same thing happens with Hooktail and other enemies/bosses with complex models.

Hello. So I've done a lot of things with my emulator to get this game working on the three Dolphin versions I've listen on my profile. So far, I've ran almost the entire game. Up until last night, at least. I went to fight the final boss and during the cutscene I kept getting read and write memory errors; over hundreds of them sometimes. Someone recommended the 5124 build to me and I was able to get through the cutscenes and into the fight, but whenever the boss turns invincible, after two turns she raises all those hands from the ground around her instead of keeping her own giant hands. Now every time I try to do the fight, those hands begin to rise but then quickly jump right up to their normal height and the game just stops continuing. All the animations go on forever but no dialogue or menus show up. I don't get any errors as well; it's like the game skipped a line of code when the hands were raising and got stuck in an infinite loop or something. Please let me know if you need any more information to help me; it'd really suck to get this far into the game just to have to stop now :C

*EDIT: I don't care about FPS at all; I played almost the whole thing at 20-30 and all of Glitzville at around 14 so none of those settings matter to me as long as the game will work.

Try using Dolphin 4.0.2 (stable version). I played through the whole game twice with no problems. Edit : Using 4.0.2 stable version means breaking some effects such as water reflections and stairs transition in Hooktail's Castle. This only occur a few times in the game, though.

Well, I made it up to the hands, unlike most other versions, but unfortunately they still didn't work :/ Thanks anyway.
