Just starting playing this on my system with the latest dev build. Looks and runs great for the most part, ran into this issue though. Right after the first fight when all the little guys try to mob you, it looks like this.

Any idea what might cause this?

OpenGL
2x AA
16x AF
4x Native

Intel i5-3450 3.1ghz
GTX 780 Latest Drivers
16gb of Ram
Windows 8.1 64-bit

Try running in single core or with deterministic GPU. This can happen when there's a CPU/GPU desync, sometimes.

Also, no punies are shown in the newest builds. I went back to 4.0-5101 to avoid this.

EDIT: I was in a hurry when I replied here, so, I didn't provide any screenshots. Here are 2 screenshots using 4.0-5186 (at that time the latest was 4.0-5190 but that crashes upon opening any game) -> this irrelevant problem was solved.

Normally all punies are outside. Instead, only the 4 different ones are visible. Some of the (!) come from the invisible punies.
The most important graphics settings are: OpenGL backend (Mac OS X version)
                                                            2 x native internal resolution (These pics where edited online so they don't appear huge here)
                                                            EFB to Ram (without cache)
                                                            Scaled EFB copy [checked]
EDIT 2: It appears that something is wrong with Bounding Box. Here's another screenshot taken using 4.0-5238 (no punies are shown there too), [color=#333399]HOWEVER, THIS SCREENSHOT CONTAINS SPOILER![/color] I'll include a link instead of letting it be shown here.
Mario should be spinning in that picture. Instead of that, a larger, darker and non-moving "icon" of Mario appears. My graphics settings are the same as above. Also, deterministic dual core is "Not set", I use dual core, I mention this because setting determistic dual core to fake-completion "deactivates" BBox

EDIT 3: It's not only the punies, everything that has to do with many characters, who are the same. Take the bomb-ombs for example!

Dolphin keeps crashing during the little intro sequence: After the title pops up during it and the little boat goes right, dolphin goes into 'stopped responding' mode.
The only setting that isn't default is EFB to RAM

Have you tried 4.0.2 and see if punies are shown? If you got problems with newer revisions, there's always a chance that the official release works.
