Hello. I'm new and i started playing paper Mario the thousand year door on dolphin 4.0.2 and every time i get to hooketail's castle with koops his partner ability seems to want to go to a fixed point in the room. Also in one room it is impossible to advance when koops always is going to the center of the room when i use his ability please help.

Hello. I have been having issues with this game. I've googled how to have the best settings but it hasn't helped much.

My system specs are in my user profile.

Some issues I'm having is inconsistent playspeed. Sometimes it plays over 100 (I turn on V-Sync and it fixes that) but more annoyingly, it will dip randomly and oddly enough if I move my laptop around the game goes to 1% for like 30 seconds until it slowly builds up to 100%.

When pressing R (to turn on his side), turning into a paper airplane, going into a pipe or anytime a character has some sort of status effect (invisible, repel, etc) there is like a cutout of the character in question in the center of the screen, much bigger than the original. None of the setting I tweaked have solved this.

I saw a TAS of this game running smooth the whole time. I'm hoping I can get my game to behave similarly.

Problem with HP notebooks. They overheat easily. Main thing you want to do is run Dolphin with the Intel GPU instead of the nvidia GPU.

I'll try that! I assumed that would cause slower emulation... I'll let you know how it goes...

BTW - It freezes when I try to save a state... is this also a GPU issue?

Hello again. my last post went unnoticed so i thought maybe there was not enough clarity in my problem.

So when i am in hook-tail castle koops ability (you know the shell hold used for the block puzzles) always seems to go to either the center of the room or a fixed point in that room.
Now that wouldn't be a issue if it wasn't for the room where the door can only be reached by paper plane.
The only reason i made it that far was because of luck so if there is a fix that i am unaware of i would greatly appreciate thanks.

I don't remember ever having a problem with that. Could you narrow down when this issue started happening?

Well when i first got the emulator and the iso it was all well and good except for some fps errors which i fixed but when i got to petal-burg and acquired koops his ability always went to a fixed point on the screen.
At first i thought "well it may be just a bug" but it wasn't until i got to hooktails castle that the issue was bugging me. All was progress able until i came to the room mentioned previously where koops went to the fixed point.
so i tried a different versions of dolphin, older and dev builds, even going as far as deleting my saves but every time it was the same when ever i used koops he went to a fixed point.



EDIT: I AM SO DUMB so i had a hunch and i figured it out the reason that was happening was because i had AR codes active so i am now good use me for future reference thanks again
