About the game (IGN.com)
In this highly anticipated sequel to Metroid Prime, become the bounty hunter behind the visor once more and travel to a planet torn into light and darkness. Hunted by a mysterious entity and a warring race called the Ing, Samus Aran must explore the light and dark worlds of this doomed planet to discover secrets and augment her suit's weapons and abilities. And now, for the first time in the history of the celebrated Metroid franchise, up to four players can battle each other as they search for weapons, grapple across ceilings, and turn into Morph Balls to make their escapes.

Emulation Status & Speed
    Issues:
  • You will need to turn on "EFB copy to RAM" to scan objects.
  • Right-Click on MP2, go to Properties and select "FIFO BP Hack" to avoid a crash when launching the game.

    Emulation Speed
  • The game requires incredible CPU-Speed because of it's awesome graphics

Additional Information
The game works entirely except the Scan Visor, you will need to turn on "EFB copy to RAM" to target objects. Also, the game requires a very good CPU, like Metroid Prime does.

The Scanner is functional. Try enabling EFB copy to RAM.

Game still seems to crash a lot for me. I'm not sure what causes it, but it seems fairly random, I can't get very far in the game before it craps out, I haven't made it to the first save point yet without it crashing at one point or another. I'm going to have to play it tonight and see how the newer revisions are.

I play both MP1 and 2, I have it on otherwise the text is bad Tongue

EDIT: just tried it and it crashed again, while trying to morph, just after I set the bomb to activate the scanner at the very beginning, and you first run into the dark stuff taking over the guys and making them come alive. Seems to be very similar to the MP1 crashing at random and lagging when switching between visors and morphing/unmorphing.

I have this:

Intel Quad Core Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz
GF8800GT 512Mb
4Gb 1600mhz ram
Windows XP pro 64-bit

But it is extremely slow, 9FPS.

Using revision R2807 Win64 version. (Not JIT version)
Using default settings + Dual core support, use safe texture cache, Copy EFB to system RAM.

Any ideas why this is so slow? Ive read that many with lesser specs get +50FPS.

Not sure why you get low fps... that system is good enough to run it for sure. maybe check your video drivers or something?

As of 2810, this game still crashes a lot at random. I just crashed at the cutscene where samus meets dark samus and she is just about to shoot into the sky and jump back into the light world. Not sure that it's a repeatable crash, but it happens. Said something about it trying to read from the memory card manager and that because the BIOS was being HLE'd all the time, it couldn't do that... I dunno.. Something with the save games and HLE'ing the BIOS don't seem to get along very well. And not only this game, Metroid Prime 3 does the same kind of thing.

That is what i thought, but i run UT3 at max settings @ 74 FPS.

Also, PSCX2 run at 60 frames constant.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers.

Anyone else have any other suggestion?

Oh, it should also be noted that Music plays for little bit in the intro and is buggy there, and doesn't play at all in game.

The sound effects are also buggy in game... Some effects sound closer than they should and some you don't hear at all or barely hear as if they were too far away... when they are right next to you. (like firing beam sometimes is super quiet or non-audible)

Which is too bad cause the sound and music really make this game that much better.
