[GC] Metroid Prime

I've been having an unusual hang/crash in the Magmoor Caverns, after the save station, if I walk down the hallway and face into the next room, the game will freeze (with the background music continuing) until I end the emulation. I've included a log (set to Warning with all types enabled) and a short recording showing that other areas work (with minor stuttering I've seen throughout) and the hallway crashing only when I face into the room.
I'm using OpenGL, synchronous shaders set to compile before starting, native resolution and no hacks or codes. Alright so Im having a problem with Metroid Prime
I want to Replay Metroid Prime with some cheats on so I can just live it up and enjoy the atmosphere, maybe read up on the lore without forgetting to scan or worrying about a major fight distracting me. However Trying to turn on a single cheat that was already there in the AR codes menu results in the game just being a black screen after "Tallon overworld" displays, but I can hear the sounds of my ship/save station so I know its TRYING to load but its stuck, my game version is 1.02, so Im just wondering if there is anything I can do Specs are: Dolphin Version 5.0-8512 Intel® Core i5-8300H CPU @ 2.30GHz, 2304 Mhz, Nvidia GTX 1050, 8GB DDR4 RAM 08-04-2018, 10:38 AM
Don't use cheats in this game except 16.9 codes if you want, I also got a bad time when I was trying to use it, and I discovered that is better I not use it.

Anyone else with a Radeon RX560 + dual core I3 +hyperthreading and having success running this without massive stuttering? I gave up around a year ago, since then have been through two Windows 10 updates, many Radeon driver revisions and obviously many Dolphin versions so I thought I'd give it another go now. This isn't just a GPU overload issue by any means, I've tried running it at native res and get the same stuttering. These aren't periodic hitches mind you - these are multi-second, garbled-sound pauses. Does this require a true quad-core to run without these? Radeon driver issue?
System specs: Radeon RX 560 Pentium G4560 8GB 2400 DDR4 Dolphin Installed on NVME SSD (~3gb sec read 1.5 gb/sec write) What I've tried with virtually no difference: - Shaders: Delete shade cache, Synchronous/Asynchronous, compile shaders before starting - D3D11, Open GL, Vulkan - Gamepad - Xinput, DirectInput - Windows 10: Disable full-screen optimizations for the Dolphin.exe - Audio - every option available + completely disable - Hacks: Widescreen vs none - Vsync: off, borderless window, fullscreen Nothing I can do has ever gotten it to run smoothly. Most other games run fine. A CPU bottleneck? 09-25-2018, 05:13 AM

Welp, just went for broke and wiped out my Dolphin Emulator folder in Documents and started completely clean, not even a save game. Async shaders, compile before starting, DX11 - now perfectly smooth. Don't know what the offending config was but that's got it sorted at least. Thanks for your time all the same!

Hi there,
I picked up Dolphin so I could play Metroid Prime again and have some nostalgia. Generally the game works great, but I've run into a heartbreaking problem. I'm at 87% completion, very far into the game, right before the Meta Ridley fight. I have tried to fight him at least five times now, and every time the game freezes during the fight, then crashes. Except for the one time it froze my entire system. Can anyone please give advice on what might fix the issue? I believe you can find my system specs in my profile, am new here. I really don't want to have to abandon my save file after all this effort. Thanks in advance 07-07-2019, 10:03 PM

What video backend are you using? Use Vulkan if possible. Same with Async Ubershaders.
If this is still happening, you may as well use Boot Camp, install Windows 10 (or Linux) and then try again once done. You will most likely have a better Dolphin experience. Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.
