Thanks for the heads up about fast depth calculation though. At least it's something. I play at native resolution anyway so no issues here.

No problem. Smile

When I attempt to boot up Metroid Prime (of which is v1.00, for the record), it just loads a black screen. However, a few times the game has loaded just fine, and I played through the Frigate Orpheon without problems.

Also of note is that I've been tinkering with my settings, but one of the times it booted correctly and right after attempting to load it again to double check, it was black again.

I'm using the stable release of 5.0 as well. The Trilogy version also works fine. Please do tell if there's anymore info needed, this is the wrong place, or I've simply just plain messed up.

EDIT: Also works fine with Direct 12 and OpenGL. Direct 11 seems to be the problem, but 11 also seems to run much better on my computer.

Low performance when viewing the map isn't a bug. The map simply is demanding.

I think there's an issue with loading games directly into fullscreen. Try to disable starting in fullscreen. Start normally, then switch into fullscreen by pressing Alt+Return.

Or set "Render to main screen" until that problem is resolved.

I have the same computer (upgraded) since 2011 and the map ran full speed in previous revisions of Dolphin.

Edit: the map doesn't slow down with Open GL backend. i don't know what to say..

The new version of Dolphin even makes the map look glitchy.
It's a bug.

Yes, there is a known problem that makes the map look glitchy. Are you sure that that's related to any performance problem?

@JosJuice: I can see in your profile that you are using a custom build. why do not using the one you are working on ? (official build)
