Latest versions of Dolphin have broken in game movies completely. It's been reported that you have to run the game in native resolution, but that's not the case. Here's a video I made https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUgAU-Br...e=youtu.be The stable release version allow for the cutscenes, but the latest dev releases don't.

I can confirm this issue, and wiki has been updated. Regression occurred sometime between 5.0-5692 and 5.0-4072. 08-11-2018, 03:02 PM
I've found a really hacky solution to the cutscene issue. It's not a practical solution since you're manually updating the display of each frame in the cutscene but maybe it'll help identify the source of the problem.
Switching the texture cache slider while a cutscene updates the current cutscene frame to actually display. It'll be frozen on that frame until the next time the texture cache setting is changed. Rapidly swapping between "Safe" and "Fast" settings allows you to view the cutscene. The faster you swap between them the faster the framerate. By default my screen flashes purple whenever I change this setting during a cutscene, so doing it rapidly causes annoying rapid purple flashing. Enabling "Immediately Present XFB" eliminates this purple flashing entirely. Changing the "Disable EFB ram copies" on or off also updates the cutscene frame. 10-02-2018, 12:35 PM

The only in game cut scene that works is the game preview in the main menu. Otherwise, no cut scenes (logos, cinematic, etc) work at all. And the game preview cut scene is severely broken. It plays smoothly, but upon a clip changing, it freezes, then the clip changes. It's not noticeable unless you've seen normal playback of the cut scene. Also my dolphin forum account got deleted but at least I still have my name. 10-02-2018, 01:11 PM

Here's a video showing what I mean. I also included another interesting thing. The spew causes massive slow downs in the newer releases, but not in the older. |
