I am trying to play Mario Golf Toadstool Tour via netplay with a friend. I can run the game flawlessly in local play on my own machine but as soon as I start netplay the game will not start. I cannot even run the game when I am not connected to someone when I start it with netplay. I have tried both 5.0-rc-33 and 4.0-7463. When starting the game in netplay it will pause and have a black screen except for the video info display on the top left of the screen. I am able to play the rest of my library (as far as I can tell) via netplay. Any advice?

Games like "Mario Power Tennis" and "Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour" unfortunately don't work via Netplay with "Dual Core" enabled . To make this game run via Netplay, go to "Settings" and disable Dual Core. It will work then. When you play these games offline, you can enable Dual Core again. EDIT: If you get performance issues (like I do with my crappy CPU), try to underclock the Wii CPU via "Settings -> Advanced". I have it set to 40% and the game runs well even though a little slow. At least the sound isn't botched as usual. I recommend playing Congo Canopy for Netplay. That course runs fullspeed without underclock even with Dual Core disabled.
Sorry for any grammar mistakes. English is not my mother tongue.

I have problems playing this game on OpenGL mode. The game shows black blinking unless I set XFB to real.
DirectX3D fix this.
I finally figured out how to fix the sound stuttering problem when moving the joystick left and right when aiming, as the game recalculates your shot path and it's a little slow. Reduce Dolphin's emulated clock speed if your CPU isn't powerful enough. I have the i5 6300HQ (Skylake), which turbos at 3.2GHz, and I needed to change emulated CPU speed to 76%.
There is still some minor stuttering when a fade transition plays though. 05-16-2021, 01:20 PM
Hi there, 60Hz code for PAL (GFTP01) game doesn't work, whatever in Action Replay or Gecko, game stay locked at 50Hz.
16/9 codes booth works for NA and EU games.
I have the same problem as Flowrian, the PAL-60hz code doesn't work.
I do believe it worked before, but I've been testing a few old builds (5.0-13178, 5.0-9, 4.0-1864) and they run it at 50hz. I wonder if it's a problem from the Dolphin ActionReplay handler or the code itself... wasn't there a homebrew to apply AR codes to GC codes which worked better than Dolphin's internal cheat engine?
I fixed it! For some reason, the code isn't applied in GC mode, but if you boot Wii mode and insert the GC disk the game runs at 60hz!
This confirms the problem is inside Dolphin's cheat engine, probably when booting in GC mode. Should I add a note to the wiki page explaining how to make this code work? 08-09-2021, 05:44 AM
