Sadly for me, the game is either very slow or just plain freezes. The menus are okay, the problem arises after I have chosen all my options and hit the "ready" button. And it freezes.

Lexx, did you connect a microphone to the gamecube?

Select it by going to Configuration > GameCube > Slot A > Mic

Configure a Mic button by going to Options > Gamecube Pad Settings > Pad 1 > Mic

Before starting Dolphin, plug in a real microphone into your PC too, otherwise the game won't pick up your singing.

Yes I did and my microphone works perfectly, that's not the problem at all. It's that the game freezes.

Lexx, try using the latest revision of Dolphin 3.5-1408 from the Download link at the top of the page. The latest revision contains freeze fixes.

Alright I did just that and it fixed the crackling sound problem I had and it doesn't freeze anymore but it's still too slow to be able to play comfortably.
