James Bond 007 — Agent Under Fire (NTSC)

General Settings

ON:

Enable Dual Core
Enable Idle Skipping
Framelimit: 60fps
Skip GC BIOS
JIT Recompiler

Direct3D Settings:

Been fiddling with the plug-ins and discovered that you just can't get to the game title screen if using Direct3D 11 or DSP LLE.

With LLE, there's just a black screen or a intermittent sound loop if you press A during the intro FMV, and with DX11, the emulator crashes.

DSP Settings (HLE)

I have Audio Throttle disabled, but didn't made any tests with it.

Known Issues

Well, the first issue shows itself right after booting the game: the FMVs are all f*cked up, completely scrambled (DX9 or DX11). I uploaded screenshots to illustrate the errors.

The second issue is: Audio. FMV audio doesn't play with HLE, almost all in-game speech is omitted (that's for cut-scenes, though. People talking to Bond via his communicator and Bond himself speaking are clearly heard, the same thing is valid to soldiers' talk). With LLE the FMV audio is garbled but easily recognizable, though, as said, I can't get to the title screen with LLE.

Third issue: Mission 2 crashes the emulator as soon as the intro FMV of this mission should play, with this error:

Overall (Dolphin r6316 x64 by mamario's)

Gameplay (1st mission) works surprisingly good. The graphics are simple for GameCube's standards, so everything runs in max speed even at 1024 x 768 here (incredible thing for a HD 4350, I suppose). Loading times are shorter than original hardware (as expected). During game play I found some graphic glitches, such as doors with garbled textures or black switches — with the same garbled textures.

Screenshots/Videos (The last four images show some glitches I've found, look like corrupted textures or something like that):

I also have this game but have not gotten far with it yet in Dolphin. Try right clicking the game in the Dolphin GUI and tick MMU Speed hack or Enable MMU. Try them both together and each separate as it may allow you to pass the area. I'll post more later.

OK, trying it now. Here's the results:

With OpenGL:

No FMVs playing, on OpenGL also. It's a codec issue.

Now the good part...

HOORAY! GOT INTO SECOND MISSION! Smile

Enabled:

Enable MMU
Speed Up Disc Transfer Rate
MMU Speed Hack
Alternate RFI

This got me into a 30-second black screen, then all of a sudden gameplay started. Good Big Grin

DX9 is probably faster.

Good, I'm glad you got pasted that part, now I know I can too. Although you got pasted that part, you probably don't need all of those properties options. You may want to eliminate them one at a time to see what one actually helps.

OK, will try with DX9. Really, gameplay was sluggish on second mission with OGL.

After a loooooooooooong grey screen (where should play the FMV of Zoe Nightshade being killed), finally appeared the mission results' summary. Good, game is progressing.

EDIT

DX9 wasn't any faster, I think MMU is what is cutting the speed in half. Maybe trying frameskip 1 will do?

Just passed third mission. Smile

EDIT 2

Fourth mission

Q-Specs is working! Nice surprise!

EDIT 3

Turn out that I was wrong. Fourth mission ran as smooth as the first, even with MMU enabled.

Just finished it. Big Grin

Enabling MMU will slow things down, so if it's not needed, don't use it. Alternate RFI will not do anything unless you're running the game in interpreter (very slow) so you don't need that option either. MMU Speed hack should be enough and is not as slow. Maybe the disc transfer rate helps, but cannot be sure.

As long as someone else has posted, you really don't need to edit your old post, just post again. Just a suggestion.

Sorry, I didn't see your post. Anyway, will keep those options on to see how far I can get into the game.

As I said, I'm not getting slowdowns in indoor missions, only in bigger areas.

Fifth mission completed. Some more screenshots:

Thanks, I appreciate it. Smile

(Everybody eatin' at the FAILkitchen)

Well, I think it's enough images.

Already on Streets of Bucharest mission.

Important to note that at the Cold Reception mission, it looked like the game started scrolling at ALL the sound samples it have. It was weird to hear screams, gunshots (various types) faint breaths and all sorts of pain sounds on an empty room. It was like if a invisible WAR was going in the place. =S
